'Roswell: New Mexico': New trailer indicates the reboot will be putting a whole new spin on the original
The CW has brought back the 90's teen sci-fi drama, 'Roswell', and with the release of the new trailer, it seems that the reboot will look at the current political situation, including the immigrant crisis. Coming from writer Carina Adly MacKenzie ('Originals'), the show which is based on the Melinda Metz's book 'Roswell High' will probably pick up from where the original Jason Katims-created drama had left, back in 2002. The show had then starred Shiri Appleby and Jason Behr, whose characters will now be taken up by Jeanine Mason and Nathan Parsons.
The description of the show reads as, "After reluctantly returning to her tourist-trap hometown of Roswell, New Mexico, the daughter of undocumented immigrants discovers a shocking truth about her teenage crush who is now a police officer: he’s an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life. She protects his secret as the two reconnect and begin to investigate his origins, but when a violent attack and long-standing government cover-up point to a greater alien presence on Earth, the politics of fear and hatred threaten to expose him and destroy their deepening romance.”
