Pregnant woman found dead after two abduct her and cut open her womb to steal unborn baby

VERACRUZ, MEXICO: A pregnant Mexican woman was killed by two attackers who cut open her womb and stole her baby. The eight-month-pregnant Rosa Isela was kidnapped by the suspected assailants who dumped her body after slicing her womb and taking away the baby.
The 20-year-old was found dead in Medellin del Bravo, in the Mexican state of Veracruz; police have taken the two alleged attackers under custody after authorities found the newborn baby with them, stated the attorney general's office in the eastern state, reports the Daily Mail.

Who was Rosa Isela?
Rosa Isela Castro Vazquez died in a horrifying incident wherein a man and a woman cut open her womb by slicing the victim's stomach and extracting the fetus. The Daily Mail reports that the woman committed the crime as she was unable to bear children, said an official investigating the case. The two suspects have been arrested on charges of kidnapping and femicide. The assailants appeared in court on December 5
According to the Daily Mail, Isela was tricked into meeting the alleged perpetrators through a false promise of offering baby clothes to her. The deal was communicated through social media, according to Isela's sister whose name was not revealed in public, and also her relatives who spoke to the local media. This case is reportedly the third similar incident in the past few years. Based on official figures, around 1,000 women were murdered in cases of femicide in Mexico in 2021.
The meeting between Isela and the suspected woman was caught on the surveillance footage near the airport, which showed the woman who arrived late talking to Isela and looking around worried and anxious during their conversation. The pregnant woman went missing from the time she got into the vehicle after the conversation.
Following the incident, an investigation was initiated by the authorities. "The State Attorney General's Office, headed by Veronica Hernandez Giadans, reports that officials of the Ministerial Police arrested Gonzalo 'N' and Veronica 'N' as alleged perpetrators of the crime of disappearance committed by individuals," read the statement on December 4 by the Attorney General of the State of Veracruz, as per the Daily Mail.
The two suspects Gonzalo 'N' and Veronica 'N' were arrested for the gruesome murder. In Mexico, the 'N' is used to not reveal the full name of the suspects based on their local privacy laws.
The investigation is led by the Special Prosecutor's Office, reports the Daily Mail.
Isela's baby, a girl, was found alive by the authorities and is doing well, reports the officials.
