'Root of Evil': Steve Hodel opens up about his father George, who he claims murdered Black Dahlia
The Hodel family members of the last couple of generations have lived through a sea of misfortune, simply because their last name was corrupted by George Hodel, who allegedly murdered Elizabeth Short aka, the Black Dahlia. Even though he was never convicted for the heinous crime, the man who blew the lid on George was his son, Steve Hodel, who spent nearly 25 years with the LA Police Department as a homicide detective.
Steve, who boasted of one of the highest "solve rates" in the force during his time, accused George of murdering Short and many others. Having written many books about the alleged murders and his father, one would assume all stories were exhausted. However, the TNT show ‘I am the Night,’ helmed by Patty Jenkins, starring Chris Pine, India Eisley, and Jefferson Mays, proves the intrigue of the Black Dahlia murder has not died out.
