Theresa, who worked in the Dallas School District as an English language learner teacher and director of migrant education, is said to have been well-known in the neighborhood and received numerous honors for her achievements. Her 37-year-old daughter Kali Lou Roque was serving as the estate's executor after she died.
On Thursday, March 30, Kali and her husband Juan Roque-Delaguarda, 37, were both discovered dead in their Salem, Oregon, home. Police have not officially stated whether there is a connection between the double homicide and the killing of Theresa as the case is still being investigated.
'I must insist for the safety of my family, friends, and community'
Daniel Hethorn, one of Theresa's other sons, expressed how grieved his family was by the deaths and demanded that Robin remain behind bars until the verdict of the case. He stated, "I must insist for the safety of my family, friends, and community that you do not release Robin from jail before the conclusion of his trial," according to New York Post.
"Our entire family has been under an unbelievable amount of stress over these past five months, fearing that Robin would be released and harm one of us. This giant weight around our necks has finally become the slightest bit lighter with Robin finally being charged," Daniel concluded.
What charges is Robin Hethorn facing?
Robin was charged with second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, car theft, first-degree theft, and identity theft in connection with the death of his mother by the jury on Friday, April 14. In a separate case in February 2023, Robin was found guilty of fourth-degree assault and strangulation for an assault on a man in 2021. His mental competency to proceed with the trial was contested in court records.
