ORANGE COUNTY, CLAIFORNIA: A terrible three-car crash that occurred on Friday, December 16, was recorded by a camera and a red Ferrari was seen being split in half. Robert Nicoletti, a retired Orange County resident and dentist, was driving the Ferrari when it collided with a silver Mazda SUV and a blue Toyota, killing him instantly.

The drivers of the Toyota and the SUV were uninjured. Police said they did not believe alcohol played a role in the accident, although Nicoletti's Ferrari accelerated to prevent a Tesla from overtaking. The collision occurred near the town of Silverado in Santiago Canyon, in the eastern Santa Ana Mountains of Orange County. The California Highway Patrol stated that they learned of the collision at approximately 3.40 pm. When they arrived at the scene of the accident, they saw an unbelievable scene of devastation: the 2015 Ferrari had been split in half and the cars crushed and mangled.

California Highway Patrol public information officer Anselmo Templado said Nicoletti was ejected from the car with fatal injuries due to the severity of the accident. Templado claimed Nicoletti was speeding and was unable to negotiate the curve.

Sgt Kris Ulibarri of the CHP's Santa Ana office said, "Speed was probably a factor. We're still investigating, but as you can see the Ferrari is split in half." On social media, Nicoletti, 71, has been receiving condolences for his "contagious laugh and smile" over the weekend.

Nicoletti's niece, Noella Anderson, wrote on Facebook, "My uncles life ended on friday in a matter of seconds in a horrific accident. Our family is going to have to learn to live in a world without our 'bobby'. This is devastating. This man was the most beautiful soul you could ever imagine."

"Bob I always loved you and we remained close for the last 30 years and I will miss that contiguous laugh and smile, may you rest in peace my friend," wrote Nicoletti's former brother-in-law Mike Anderson in a Facebook post on Saturday, December 17.

Following his untimely passing, Robert Nicoletti's son Kyle uploaded a nice picture of his father on social media. "❤️❤️❤️ Your Dad was a kind soul with a generous heart. We too loved him very much and he will be greatly missed. Eternal rest grant unto Bob O’Lord and may perpetual light shine upon him and may his soul rest in peace. 🙏❤️🙏," one person wrote in response to Kyle's Facebook profile photo update.
