MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA: The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office is trying to locate a troubled Herrington family of six and their vehicle. The family includes the father, mother and their 4 children.

The sheriff’s office says Robert Herrington, Erika Herrington and their four children Landon and Carter, 8, Briella, 3, and Delilah, 2 have been missing for several days now. The Stearns County Sheriff's Office is now asking the public for help locating them. Robert, who is the father of the kids and Erika's husband, is barred from any contact from his wife and kids due to a no-contact order stemming from domestic abuse, and there is a concern for the safety of her and their children. Authorities say that while the criteria for an AMBER Alert is “well established,” issuing one “does not fit this situation at this time.”

Erika Herrington's mother reported her and the children missing last year. Investigators eventually found them along with Robert in South Dakota. But before doing so, Erika’s mom told them that she feared Robert was going to hurt them all. He has previously abused Erika physically. Robert was charged twice with violating the no-contact order over the past year. Sheriff’s deputies arrested Robert in early August for violating the no-contact order after he was found with his family inside a storage unit in St. Augusta. The sheriff’s office said that Robert is free on bail awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to domestic assault for pinning his wife down on the floor by her neck and threatening her with a knife in December 2019.

The Sonata in which the family must be traveling is white in color with a blacktop. Authorities ask the public to keep a lookout for the car which has the Minnesota license BWD 364. Anyone who has seen the Herringtons or their vehicle is urged to call the Stearns County Sheriff's Office at 320-251-4240.
