Riley Gaines claims Megan Rapinoe 'would genuinely shiv' any trans athlete if they took her spot
NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: Riley Gaines, a 12-time NCAA All-American swimmer and a five-time SEC champion, claimed Megan Rapinoe, who defended transgender inclusion in women's sports in June 2022, would have stabbed a trans woman if they took her spot. Gaines also slammed Rapinoe for not speaking out against trans women.
Speaking of the 37-year-old soccer player, Gaines said during ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored’ on Tuesday, April 18, “If you've ever seen Megan Rapinoe play she's a very tough, aggressive player. So I can't tell you what she would have done, but I can tell you exactly what I think she would have done. I think she would genuinely shiv someone if a male tried to take her spot.”

Megan Rapinoe doesn't have a daughter to defend
Gaines then added by saying, "She's done playing, she has nothing to lose, she doesn't have a daughter to defend - so what's to lose by virtue signaling? In reality, it's not kind to ask a girl to share a locker room with fully-equipped male parts. Not inclusive to ask a woman to smile and step aside, so a man can take her spot and honors."
'#LetKidsPlay'
Gaines also tweeted the same prior to the interview with Morgan. The tweet was in response to Rapinoe, who wrote, "Today, politicians in DC are claiming to “protect women's sports” by pushing a trans & intersex sports ban. Call your Congressional rep today to say women's sports need protection from unequal pay, sexual abuse & lack of resources, NOT from trans kids. #LetKidsPlay" To which, Gaines replied, "It's worth noting that 1) you're done with your athletic career and 2) because you aren't sexually attracted to men, it's unlikely you will ever have a daughter to defend. To me, this looks like a classic case of virtue signaling because you have nothing to personally lose," and added, "I can respect opinions that differ from my own and everyone is entitled to think/speak independently, but I can't help but think Megan Rapinoe would genuinely shiv any male who tried to take her spot on the US Women's National Team.

independently, but I can't help but think Megan Rapinoe would genuinely shiv any male who tried to take her spot on the US Women's National Team.
However, many were quick to condemn Gaines. One wrote, "There was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING respectful about what you said to Megan Rapinoe." Another commented, "Megan Rapinoe understands the difference between men and transgendered women, and welcomes the competition, as most true competitors would. Some people, however, want to make a career out of being paid to explain how they are being victimized."

Some people, however, want to make a career out of being paid to explain how they are being victimized.
While some had other views. One of them said, "Megan Rapinoe was never cheated out of a trophy or spot like you Riley and other women have been by males on women's teams. She got hers, now she's throwing other women overboard." One more wrote, "If Megan Rapinoe was forced to compete against male soccer players identifying as 'women,' she’d be a nobody. No one would even know her name. Now that she was given a chance to compete fairly, she wants to take this chance from other female athletes and turn them into nobodies.

Gaines' take on trans swimmer Lia Thomas
Gaines has been in the news since the time she demanded separate locker rooms for transgender athletes after she claimed she was exposed to trans swimmer Lia Thomas’ male genitalia. On an episode of Fox Nation's ‘Tucker Carlson Today," as previously reported, Gaines accused organizers of not disclosing that the 23-year-old Thomas would be using the women’s locker rooms. She said, “That's not something we were forewarned about, which I don't think is right in any means, changing in a locker room with someone who has different parts. I feel like to have that kind of forced upon us, so not only were we forced to race against a male, we were forced to change in the locker room with one." She also called out the "huge lack of accountability", as reported by Fox News. She said, "I think people forget that women's sports were a protected group. The category was made because the playing field was not level by any means when you have them competing against men," And added, "And so obviously it was created to ensure that fairness. And now that we are kind of completely flipping that, it devalues what it was created for."
