Eric Swalwell proposes 'kicking out' all Russian students from American universities
In response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Congressman Eric Swalwell (D-CA) proposed deporting Russian college students and closing the Russian embassy in Washington D.C, the Post Millennial reports. Representative Swalwell currently serves as a member of the House Intelligence Committee.
"Frankly, I think closing their embassy in the United States, kicking every Russian student out of the United States, those should be on the table," Rep. Swalwell said on 'CNN Newsroom'.

Rep. Swalwell concluded, "Vladimir Putin needs to know every day that he is in Ukraine, there are more severe options that could come. This is the largest invasion in Europe since World War II, and these are the harshest sanctions that any country has experienced since World War II. There will be more to come."
Western allies agreed on Saturday to tighten sanctions against Russia by barring Russian banks from using the SWIFT network. In a joint statement, the European Commission, France, Germany, Italy, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States pledged to strengthen financial sanctions by disallowing Russian banks from accessing the telecoms network to perform international and domestic transactions.
The move will essentially isolate Russia, making it extremely difficult for its economy to realize short- or long-term benefits. The restrictions obstruct Russia's capacity to export natural gas and oil, among other things. More than half of Russia's GDP comes from oil and gas exports.
Western sanctions are also affecting vodka, one of Russia's most famous exports. The Canadian government has already halted the sale and importation of Russian-made goods in the country. In the United States, numerous state governments have already demanded that Russian vodka be removed from liquor stores.
Russia's economy began to tank when it invaded Ukraine, even before Western nations imposed sanctions. A Russian ruble is currently worth roughly 0.012 US dollars, making it less valuable than various video game currencies.
According to FBI authorities, Swalwell previously had a close personal contact with a lady named Christine Fang, who turned out to be a Chinese government snitch. The two were involved even as Swalwell was a member of the House Intelligence Committee. When high-ranking members of the House Republican Caucus learned of Ms. Fang's contact with Swalwell, they demanded that he be removed from the Committee.
Rep. Swalwell would lose his seat on the House Intelligence Committee if the Republican Party gets a majority in the House of Representatives after the 2022 midterm elections, according to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).
