Things have been anything but easy for the Baeumler family ever since they made the bold decision to uproot their family from their family home in Canada to open a resort in the remote island of Andros in the sunny Bahamas. Alongside taking on the challenging task of renovating the whole rundown resort into a tourist hotspot, the Baeumlers also had several other obstacles to battle such as hurricanes, and a global pandemic that forced them to put a pin on operating their resort until the travel restrictions were lifted.

After an overwhelming two years of wait for the world to resume to the pre-pademic state, Bryan and Sarah Baeumler, slowly began resuming their lives as well. For the sake of their children, the couple decided to move their home base to Florida, and juggle between Bahamas and Florida to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Unfortuntaely for the Baeumlers, this juggling is turning out to be just as stressful as the renovation of their resort Caerula Mar. While Sarah is handling the home base in Florida, Bryan is back in the island overseeing some small renovation works around the resort. While staying away from his family on the island, Bryan realized that he wanted to spend more time pursuing his passion for flying, and spending more time with his kids and wife, rather than working in construction. Sarah, on the other hand, viewed their children growing up as a sign for her to finally pursue her own professional dreams and scale up her business ventures.

During a telephonic conversation, Bryan and Sarah realized how their visions for future are so different from each others'. Both Bryan and Sarah seem determined to go ahead with their own plans. Sarah even leased an office space to focus on her work. Though Bryan realized that their contradictory plans might cause some issues in their marriage a little down the road, for the time being, he decided to not dwell upon it, and instead support Sarah with her ambitious plans, while also squeezing in as much time as he could with their children.

We can't wait to see this new dynamic between Bryan and Sarah.

'Renovation Island' airs every Sunday at 9/8c on HGTV.
