LONDON, ENGLAND: Disney+'s latest historical fantasy adventure series 'Renegade Nell' is nothing short of a delight. Louisa Harland, best known for her sitcom 'Derry Girls', takes on the role of rebellious Nell Jackson, who finds herself framed for murder.

Set in the 18th century in England, the series primarily revolves around Nell Jackson, who, one day, realizes her superpowers, granted by a tiny spirit named Billy Blind (Nick Mohammed).

Nell's superpowers allow her to overcome challenges with superhuman strength and agility, making her a force to be reckoned with.

Yet, her newfound powers come with their own set of trials as she grapples with threats from the likes of Thomas Blancheford (Jake Dunn), the landlord's evil son, and Robert Hennessey, Earl of Poynton (Adrian Lester), who is the master of black magic.

Sally Wainwright, the writer of 'Renegade Nell', masterfully intertwines fantasy elements with sensitive themes of the gender divide and class struggle. Fortunately, the narrative seamlessly utilizes situational comedy with moments of gravitas, to create a balanced and engaging viewing experience.

Nell defies societal norms and battles against oppressive forces, all while grappling with her destiny and the responsibilities that come with her powers.

The action sequences are well-choreographed, and you'll see Nell catching bullets now and then and doing exceptional flips.
