'Ray Donovan' Season 7 Episode 6: Smitty is getting used to Donovan way, but will he have a future with Bridget?
Season 7 of 'Ray Donovan' has given us a side of Smitty (Graham Rogers) that we did not know he had, and boy are we glad to see it. As fans saw in the previously aired Season 7 Episode 6 of the series, Bridget (Kerris Dorsey) confessing to her husband that she cheated on him with her boss Adam (Michael Esper). Although his initial reaction was to cry, we saw him really handle his business the Donovan way, when he beat up Adam. He, in fact, seemed to get more aggressive as Adam begged to be left alone, and after Bridget bailed him out, he proved that he can hold a grudge.
In the 'Ray Donovan' universe, this is as hot as Smitty can get, and he probably already knows that this is the version of himself that Bridget is going to truly fall for. To date, we have seen Smitty be consistently smitten with his wife, while it seemed like Bridget is only half in, seeking adventure elsewhere. It was best evidenced when Adam cheated on her, but she never expected to see Smitty get violent, and having grown up with a father whose first answer to every problem is violence, it would not be surprising to see her get more attracted to him.
As a fan aptly puts it, "Smitty learned well from Ray if Bridget could see in person what Smitty did she would probably get turned on LMFAO," adding how much of a character development we have seen in the man. "I can't believe this is the same Smitty who puked at Sandy's house when he saw a dead body for the first time," they added. Fans are certainly appreciative of this version of Smitty, with feedback stating "Smitty handled his business. Good for him."
It proves just how much Smitty wants to be a part of the Donovan family. He has been a part of the family business for a while now, and in the coming episodes, we will see him getting more involved. In the upcoming Season 7 Episode 7, we will see him take on a project for Ray (Liev Schreiber) along with Terry (Eddie Marsan).
