'Ray Donovan' Season 7 Episode 5: Smitty breaks down, plots revenge after learning Bridget cheated on him with Adam
Season 7 of 'Ray Donovan' has truly been outdoing itself with each passing episode, and a major part of that is thanks to Bridget (Kerris Dorsey), who—as of the previously aired Season 7 Episode 4—is truly taking after Ray (Liev Schreiber).
She recently helped her boss Adam (Michael Esper) get ahead of the Jonathan Walker Hanson (Clay Hollander) Herpes—excuse me, Hispes—scandal with the help of her husband Smitty (Graham Rogers).
While we were worried for a second that Ray would not approve of her joining his business, he seemed pretty pleased with her quick thinking and more or less confirmed that he would have done the same exact thing if he had been in her shoes.
However, Ray was busy with other issues, specifically the ones caused by Mayor Feratti (Zach Grenier), because he wanted to flex his muscles and prove to Ray who was actually in power.
Ray does seem to have gotten a girlfriend out of it though, so all things considered, a good episode for him, especially since he doesn't know that Mickey (Jon Voight) has returned to New York despite strict instructions from him to not return.
Bridget, even though she had a good first day professionally, is not doing so great in her love life.
As we saw earlier this season, she made out—maybe, more—with her boss, and she is torn with guilt. She had been getting closer to him in the recent past and said as much to Ray as well, and it was only a matter of time before they explored their feelings. From the events of 'Hispes', it is clear that Adam is as into Bridget as he is, if not more, and there is no way Bridget can keep it a secret from her husband much longer.
In the upcoming Season 7 Episode 5, we will see Bridget finally revealing the truth to Smitty, and he will not take it all that well. He is seen crying in the trailer for the episode and is then seen bashing up a car - which we assume belongs to Adam.
The official summary of the Season 7 Episode 5 of 'Ray Donovan' titled 'An Irish Lullaby' says, "Smitty seeks revenge on Adam".
We can't wait to see what exactly happens when the show returns to Showtime on Sunday, December 15.
