'Ray Donovan' Season 7 is back on Sunday, November 17, and boy, by the look of it, it's going to be one of the most dramatic seasons yet. This one is probably going to be the heaviest emotionally, especially with Ray (Liev Schreiber) in therapy and trying his best do undo his past mistakes. He wants to be better, but his family, his profession and his instincts, all hold him back.

The season begins with Ray taking his father Mickey (Jon Voight) to the prison so that he can turn himself in, and it seems like a good start to the road of recovery, but things turn sour as soon as a police officer's severed head shows up four months into prison time. Unfortunately, Ray and his family are implicated in the murder and he finds that the hours he has put into working on himself are quickly unraveling. Even therapy sessions with Dr. Amiot (Alan Alda) don't seem to help Ray combat this new development. It especially works against Ray that an unrelenting New York cop in search of the truth is right behind him at all turns.

To top things off, an old group of enemies also show up in Ray's life, thanks to his alliance with NYC mayor Ed Feratti (Zach Grenier). The politician is back to his corrupt ways and one of the dirty jobs he has Ray do involves blackmailing the Sullivans — a powerful family with whom the Donovans have an unsavory past. Fans of the show will remember the name Sullivan because it has been mentioned a few times over the years, and in Season 1, we even met someone from the clan. They are part of the Donovans' life in Boston and they are not the kind of people Ray wants to have any association with, in the present.

While 'Ray Donovan' started off as the story of a remorseless fixer, it has now evolved into the story of a man trying to mend the bridges between him and his family, and the transition has been organic and seamless. We hope Ray finds success in the road that he has picked for himself when Season 7 of 'Ray Donovan' returns with Episode 1 titled 'FAITH. HOPE. LOVE. LUCK.' on Sunday, November 17.
