'Ravi Patel's Pursuit of Happiness': Meet the comedian, actor and philanthropist behind docuseries coming to HBO Max

'Ravi Patel’s Pursuit Of Happiness,' a CNN original series is now set to release on HBO Max at the end of August. It is a docuseries that will showcase, actor and comedian Ravi Patel trying to answer questions about life such as parenting, immigration and gender roles as he travels to four different locations, Mexico, Japan, Korea and Denmark. He will travel with his parents Vasant and Champa Patel to the first location, his wife Mahaley Patel to the second and the last two with two different friends. This is a highly anticipated show, as most recognize Patel from 'Meet the Patels' which was a series that chronicled Patel's journey to finding a life partner. Meet the comedian that is set to bring this four-part docuseries to life, triggering intense thought and hopefully meaningful action amongst its viewers.

Patel was born in Freeport, Illinois, United States and has accomplished feats as an actor, director and comedian. He is known for his roles as a telephone operator in 'Transformers' (2007), himself in 'Meet the Patels' (2014), Ravi Patel in 'Master of None' (2015), Mo in SXSW’s comedy 'Come As You Are' (2019), and Tom in Seth Rogen’s 'Long Shot' (2019). His directional credits include 'Meet the Patels,' and a TV series documentary titled 'Independent Lens' (2016); he also served as writer for both productions. Patel also co-created and stars in the upcoming Netflix production 'Bhaag Beanie Bhaag' and the film 'Wonder Woman 1984.' His most recent works include Grant from 'American Housewife' (2017-2019), Joe in 'Fam' (2019), and Dr. May in 'Black String' (2018).

Patel graduated from the University of North Carolina majoring in Economics and International Studies and was a broker while in his senior year of college and afterward an investement banker - according to the star's IMDb page. The comedian has a famous sister as well, writer and director Geeta Patel, he worked with her as a co-director in 'One in a Billion. Patel's philanthropy has also been in the spotlight as he is a board member and investor for 'This Bar Saves Live' that donates a meal packet for every granola bar sold from the establishment. He is also the co-founder of the bar, the other founders include Ryan Devlin, Todd Grinnell and Kristen Bell.

As we had earlier reported, the synopsis of the upcoming docuseries will be as follows: According to reports, the docuseries follows actor, documentarian and philanthropist Ravi Patel, an Indian-American, as he travels the world "seeking answers surrounding life's universal questions". Patel will travel to Mexico with his parents and speak to them about retirement and aging, travel to Japan with his wife to discuss parenting and gender roles, travel to Korea with his friend who is an entrepreneur to speak about work and life balance and finally to Denmark with a friend who is Muslim to speak about the immigration crisis."
