Spoilers for 'Ratched' Season 1

Netflix's 'Ratched' ends on a near positive note for the titular nurse and her girlfriend Gwendolyn (Cynthia Nixon) frolicking in the sunny, beachside eateries, far-far away in Mexico. It has been two years since Mildred Ratched (Sarah Paulson) saw her mass-murdering foster brother Edmund (Finn Wittrock) escape just days before his scheduled execution.

She makes Gwen read the newspapers daily to look for any crimes that would look suspicious, and right in the final moments of the show when Lucia's now-head Betsy Bucket (Judy Davis) visits them, there's finally a news report of another mass murder, this time, seven nurses. Soon a phone call comes to the hotel asking for Ratched and when she answers, it's Edmund with threats.

He is coming after her and Ratched figures out that someone sold her out and gave away where she was. The question is, who? In their phone call, Ratched threatens Edmund back saying she is the one that's coming for him, trying to act all composed about the situation.

After their call, the camera focuses on Edmund who walks back to his car, and it is revealed that he is joined in his quest to hunt down his foster sister by none other than former patient at the Lucia facility, Charlotte Wells (Sophie Okonedo), who suffers from multiple personality disorder. However, Charlotte isn't Edmund's only company on the road trip to hunt down Ratched.

He is also joined by the seemingly nutty motel owner Louise (Amanda Plummer), who was last seen working at the facility before the time jump. This is where it becomes clear that perhaps Louise was the one who gave Ratched away. Louise and Betsy were very tight right from the start. We saw the two ladies get together for drinks and dinner, practice dance moves, and later, after Betsy was appointed interim head, she was the one to employ Louise in the facility.

Betsy is currently on a trip to Mexico, which she might have unsuspectingly told Louise before setting off. It's possible that Louise is a new recruit of Edmund and knowing his manipulative prowess, it's not hard to deduce that he convinced her to leak information about Betsy's trip to Mexico. It's also worth noting that Louise and Betsy did not end on amicable terms the last time they were on screen together.

Betsy asks Louise to cut the crap on imposing on the patients at Lucia, so spilling details to Edmund seems like an act of solid revenge as well. As for how Edmund hunts Ratched down, only the already teased Season 2 will answer that. 'Ratched' is now available for streaming on Netflix.
