The tragic death of little Quinton Simon: Horror after toddler's body may have been 'thrown in DUMPSTER'
CHATHAM COUNTY, GEORGIA: In a sensational development in the case of missing toddler Quinton Simon, police claim it is likely that he was dumped at one of the landfill sites. The investigators in Chatham Country, Georgia, have now been working on the theory that the 20-month-old’s remains are in the trash, as they pace up their search.
Quinton went missing on October 5, and his mother Leilani Simon is considered a suspect in the case. However, the authorities said that she has not been arrested or charged. As per CCPD and the FBI, the child who disappeared is likely dead. Chatham Police Chief Jeff Hadley said, “We believe he was placed in a specific dumpster at a specific location. We want justice for Quinton just like everybody else. And we want to find his remains, so we can give him a proper resting place. I have every belief that we will find his remains here at the landfill.” The chief didn’t answer what evidence drew him to this assumption.

Presently, the cops are filtering through the piles of debris at a landfill site off Little Neck Road near L Scott Stell Park. “We are not just randomly searching this landfill, we have specific evidence that leads us to this large property. This will not be quick, this will not be easy, and the outcome is uncertain,” added Will Clarke, the FBI's supervisory agent for the satellite office in Savannah.
The court records show Leilani, 22, is a "chronic, unrehabilitated substance abuser of cocaine and cannabis", and have confessed that she had been consuming cocaine and came positive for the drug during giving birth to one of his children. The authorities handed over the guardianship to Billie Jo Howell of her grandchildren. It is reported that they had a bitter relationship lately, and the daughter had evicted her mother. However, the guardianship was taken away from her too, after Child Protective Services in Chatham County, Georgia, believe she had "failed to provide adequate supervision". The two children are placed in foster care while the court hears on their custody at the Chatham County Juvenile Court, reports Daily Mail.
Diana McCarta, Quinton’s babysitter, had riled up Billie Jo with her interviews and speeches on the toddler’s disappearance. She divulged that she had received a text message informing her there was no need to take care of Quinton on the day he went missing. It is alleged that the text came 30 minutes before he was ‘last seen’ by his stepfather before disappearing.
