The focus of this episode is bride Hayley Abernathy's father. Hayley is getting married at the end of the week and she seeks the help of the fab five to upgrade her father, Kevin Abernathy's, look. She reveals that her father takes after the "funny big guy" persona and dresses accordingly. Kevin is divorced. Hayley chose to live with him after the split and they got really close, so much so that his life revolves around her.

Hayley revealed her father feels that he's "ugly, fat and someone that nobody wants to be with". In a confessional, Kevin himself revealed that he "didn't have the gumption" to get out there after the divorce that happened four years ago. Hayley wanted her father to be "really confident and understand that he's worthy of love". She knew that all eyes would be on him at the wedding and wanted to make sure that he "walks in there like he owns the place".

In a conversation with Jonathan Van Ness, Kevin confessed that he sees a strange person when he looks at the mirror. He further revealed that his broken teeth have impacted his confidence and he keeps thinking what others make of him when he smiles. His wardrobe comprises only of activewear. Tan France is concerned about how he is going to look while wearing an oversized winter jacket at his daughter's wedding and asks him how he wants to feel on her big day. Kevin admits that he wants to feel more confident and smile a lot more. One thing that Tan also noticed about Kevin was his self deprecating humor. He firmly told him to put an end to it, have more respect for himself and dress for the life he aims to have. With all that hair gone from his head and face, a pair of veneers, new clothes that are not baggy, and dance lessons for the father-daughter dance later, in the words of Tan, Kevin looked like a 'DILF' and the latter is extremely happy with the change.

This episode of 'Queer Eye' is now streaming on Netflix.
