LONDON, ENGLAND: The Queen's newly-published death certificate has revealed that Her Majesty died of "old age."

Britain's longest-serving monarch died at the age of 96 at Balmoral Castle on Thursday, September 8 at 3.10 pm, reportedly before all her children and grandchildren could get to her bedside and nearly three hours before the public was informed of her passing. The National Records of Scotland released the sovereign's death certificate citing her as dying of "old age." It's the same cause of death as stated for Prince Philip in April 2021. That said, the informant of the Queen's death was listed as her daughter Anne, Princess Royal.

According to the Daily Mail, the historic document gives the monarch's occupation as 'Her Majesty The Queen' and reveals that only King Charles and his sister were by their mother's side when she died in Aberdeenshire three weeks ago. The certificate also confirmed suspicions that most of the monarch's children and grandchildren weren't with her during her last hours despite their best efforts.

Princes William, Andrew, Edward, and the latter's wife Sophie Countess of Wessex were en route via flight when the Queen passed. They took off from RAF Northolt in South Ruislip, west London, at 2.39 pm, and landed an hour later. Prince Harry did not accompany his brother on the plane and had to make his own travel arrangements as he took a jet from Luton to Scotland. He landed at Aberdeen 16 minutes after Buckingham Palace made the announcement and later arrived at Balmoral at 7.52 pm, nearly five hours after she died.

The document lists Dr Douglas James Allan Glass as the certifying registered medical practitioner. Glass is a GP from the Highlands village of Aboyne, nearby Balmoral. According to the newspaper, there were no other contributing factors and old age was the only cause of death listed. The registrar general for Scotland, Paul Lowe, confirmed that the Queen's demise was registered in Aberdeenshire on September 16, 2022. Princess Anne revealed in her tribute to the Queen that she was with her mother in her final moments. "I was fortunate to share the last 24 hours of my dearest mother's life," said the Princess Royal, who accompanied her mother's coffin as it traveled from Balmoral to London.
