Shamed pub owner forced to shut down after photos of couple having sex on pool table go viral
DALMUIR, SCOTLAND: An owner of a pub in Scotland’s Dalmuir has shared his feelings after he had to shut down his business soon after some explicit photos of him were reportedly shared online showing him engaging in sexual activity on his pool table. After the images went viral, Horse and Barge pub in Clydebank took its last order on Monday night, October 3.
However, landlord Scott Mackie said that the shutting down of the pub had nothing to do with the viral pictures. The businessman told the Clydebank Post, “Both things are totally unrelated, my issue is probably the absolutely mortifying images of me, which I admit was a stupid mistake on my part on a very drunken night where pictures of me were taken without my knowledge or consent and by coincidence they happened to appear on every social media platform the day I decided to close the pub.”

“The actual closure of the pub was my own personal decision that I had been considering for a few weeks, due to the type of lease/agreement I had with the brewery it just wasn’t viable, it’s a great pub and I hope it opens again soon and I hope whomever it is can make a go of it,” he said.
Mackie said, “It broke my heart to make the decision to close as it was my dream to run my own pub, and regardless of the outcome, I did it, and I done it by myself at the age of 25. It just wasn’t meant to be. Heineken were fantastic from start to end.”
Meanwhile, the Dumbarton Road establishment Star Pubs and Bars’ owners claimed that they were not notified about the close down. Their spokesperson said, “The operator of The Horse & Barge is self-employed and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the pub, including its staff and activities. They have closed the pub without notice and we are working to get it reopened as quickly as possible.”
In another unrelated incident, a couple from in Birmingham, England, made news after having sex on a public parking lot's roof in July while the temperature went above 100 degrees. The footage attracted a lot of comments online with one saying, “I’m guessing they’re the homeless peeps that stand at traffic lights begging for money…. The traffic was dead on Tuesday so they were probably bored.” The second one wrote, “Suppose it was easy to slide in being all that sweaty on the hottest day of the year.”
