On this episode of 'Property Brothers: Forever Home', the renovated kitchen definitely stole the show, although, the interior design and color palette may be an acquired taste, fans absolutely love it.
Couple Amy and Dominic wanted to have an inviting home and hoped to have a forever home for their family. The brothers, Drew and Jonathan, were called on to improve the 50-year-old home. When it came to the kitchen, it had what they called a 'lawyer office' color that offset the youthful vibe in the home while the kitchen doubled as a play space for the couples' two young kids along with a portable dishwasher. The space in the kitchen wasn't the issue, it was the layout and lack of storage that needed more than a few changes.
While the couple focused on the need for more storage space and open sightlines from their living room to their kitchen, they also wanted a much brighter homey environment. With blue being both their favorite colors, the couple wanted their kitchen to represent that with their cabinets and have it finish off with wooden accents.
It's safe to say that the brothers did not disappoint, with Amy and Dominic gushing over their new kitchen after noticing how now, the large space was put to very good use. The splash of warm blues on the cabinets brought to life a dull kitchen with woody finishes and an island to die for. The island wore a large piece of black Quartz with white veining that highlighted the rest of the kitchen.
A look that is common in family homes, this young and vibrant kitchen with its fantasy blue cabinets was approved by many fans of the show. The color palette really did change the aesthetic of the kitchen space, replacing a dustier color. One fan tweeted about how this is the way to go, "Totally better than all white! #boring" while another said, "Gorgeous with the blue cabinets!! #PropertyBrothers #ForeverHome"
Even the ones that weren't quite happy with the design finishes, with a fan tweeting, "Not a fan of black but anything you guy's do looks great regardless. " Functionality was also brought up, considering the young mom has little kids, with one fan tweeting, "They are beautiful. However, as someone who has a black countertop, it is a pain to keep spot-free. And that drives me insane. So I say be careful for what you wish for."
All in all, fans seemed to have like the contrast in the kitchen colors, some deeming it modern others calling it aesthetically beautiful - either way, the couple loves it, so it's a happy ending.
