KERSHAW COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA: WWE legend Jim Duggan had to apply some of his wrestling skills earlier this month when he encountered an intruder at his South Carolina home at 6.45 pm on Thursday, December 8. In an interview, Duggan, better known as "Hacksaw" in the wrestling community, confessed that his home had been broken into and that he had to confront the burglar.

The 68-year-old told Wrestling Inc that a man in his mid-20s entered through his front door. Duggan claimed that he tackled the man to the ground by himself, before taking his.44 caliber pistol and held him at gunpoint. The former wrestler said, "I heard more people coming out and I worried there could be more disturbance, so I switched off my Christmas lights and instructed the man to be silent," New York Post reported.

According to Duggan, the intruder was fleeing individuals related to a separate legal matter, leading him to seek refuge; the intruder reportedly pounded on multiple other doors before climbing over the Duggans' fence and entering through their unlocked door. Duggan did not press charges when asked, letting the Kershaw County Sheriff's Department apprehend the intruder. "Thank God we didn't shoot him," Duggan said as per Wresteling Inc.

Duggan said the man he was holding at gunpoint seemed scared and believed that the residents of the area were out to get him. Duggan claimed to have contacted the Kershaw County Sheriff's Office to assist in handling the situation. "We would like to thank the Kershaw County Sheriff's Department for their prompt and professional response last week. A man who we had never seen before climbed our fence, ran through our yard to our front door, and was pounding on our glass doors. Before we could get to the door, he opened it and fell into our house. I held him at gunpoint while Debra called 911. We are safe with no damage. Thanks to everyone for the concern and well wishes!," Duggan wrote on Twitter.

Fans appreciated his quick wit in tackling the intruder. One user said, "the epitome of AMERICANA, and one of my childhood into adulthood heroes, literally went Royal Rumble on a home intruder and held him at gunpoint. HOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Best news of the day ever!" Another said, "Daaaayum Brother Jim you could of used that 2×4 instead of the big gat. I have always loved ya man. Big, big part of my childhood. Lots of people id imagine. So when I say I am so happy you and Ms.Deb are ok we mean it!! Hoooooooooooooo!!!!! Big Shout out to the Kershaw P.D. too."
