Trump fat-shames rally protester, tells him to ‘go home, start exercising’ prompting laughter from the highly charged crowd
President Donald Trump, who is well known for mocking and name-calling his political adversaries, on Thursday night, August 15, took a mean-spirited jab at a protester at an election rally by telling him to "go home and start exercising".
"That guy's got a serious weight problem," he said of the protester, prompting a burst of laughter from the highly charged crowd in New Hampshire, the Daily Mail reported.
"Go home, start exercising," Trump added and ordered his security to "get him out of here" before resuming his speech and insisting that "our movement is built on love."
The president's comments surprise many as he himself has been slammed for being "medically obese" after weighing 243lbs at 6ft 3in.
In 2018, Trump's former doctor at the White House placed him on a diet and exercise regimen intended to help him shed 10 - 15 pounds over the course of the year.
However, he reportedly gained four pounds instead after failing to follow it "religiously."
Although the president is notorious for binging on greasy fast food from all-American fast-food giants like KFC and McDonald's from time to time, he is in pretty good shape for a 73-year-old grandfather-of-nine.
In February, White House physician Navy Cdr. Sean Conley declared President Trump to be in “very good health” after he underwent a physical exam at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
“I am happy to announce the President of the United States is in very good health and I anticipate he will remain so for the duration of his presidency, and beyond,” Conley wrote in a memo summarizing the exam.
In 2018, former White House physician Navy Rear Adm. Dr. Ronny Jackson, said that Trump’s “overall health is excellent."
“His cardiac performance during his physical exam was very good, he continues to enjoy the significant, long-term cardiac and overall health benefits that come from a lifetime of abstinence from tobacco and alcohol,” Jackson said.
“All data indicates the president is healthy and will remain so for the duration of his presidency," he added.
Meanwhile, Trump continued to attack his political opponents during Thursday's rally in Manchester.
In the opening minutes of his speech, he blasted the Green New Deal and Democrats fighting for his job in the 2020 race.
Trump revived his attacks on Elizabeth 'Pocahontas' Warren for her Native American heritage scandal and 'Sleepy Joe Biden' for his lagging campaign schedule and small crowds.
"What about a Sleepy Joe Biden rally? Right? Boy, he's made some beauties. I sort of hope it's him. I don't mind any of them. You got Pocahontas, who's rising. You've got Kamala. Kamala is falling. You got Beto. Beto is like gone," he said.
"I don't know that it matters. But whoever it is, different, different people," the president continued. "But I don't know, I think Sleepy Joe may be able to limp across the finish line. Might be. But today they announced that they’re going to cut way back on his appearances because he is such a disaster they’re going to have fewer appearances."
"You heard this, right?" Trump emphasized. "They’re going to cut way back on his appearances. Can you believe it? If I ever did that, it would be over! The fake news would get us. And we don’t let them get us. And it is fake."
In a radio interview on Thursday, Trump claimed about 12,000 people had requested tickets to attend his rally at SNHU Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire, causing the venue to spill overcapacity.
Trump has previously grabbed headlines from the same arena after he memorably called Texas Sen. Ted Cruz a "p***y" during the 2016 presidential race.
At the time, Trump won the Republican primary for the presidency in the state but eventually lost the general election to Hillary Clinton later that year.
Nonetheless, he is determined to win the state in the 2020 elections.
