13-year-old girl claims it was 'love at first sight' with boy, 10, who impregnated her: 'We like holding hands'
The pregnant Russian 13-year-old sensation who claims she was impregnated by her 10-year-old boyfriend has now opened up about how it was love at first sight for the young couple.
Darya and Ivan (Vanya) shared some interesting details about their relationship during an appearance on Russian television, Buzz.ie reports.
According to the children, who appeared on the On Air show with parental permission, they met a year ago after being introduced through mutual friends and fell in love at first sight.
Darya, who is eight weeks pregnant, maintains that Ivan is, in fact, her unborn child's biological father. However, her claims have been questioned by some medical experts, who say it's highly improbable the ten-year-old could have fathered the baby owing to his under-developed sperm.
“A friend of mine introduced us and two days later we started dating," Darya recalled on TV. "Ivan said he was in love with me. We tried to spend as much time together as we could."
"We like walking down the streets holding hands and kissing," she added. That said, some Russian doctors and medical experts have cast doubts on Darya's story. According to her, it was Ivan's idea to engage in sexual intercourse after they allegedly locked themselves in his room.
“I did not think that aged 10 he can do such things," she said. "I thought that nothing would happen.” Meanwhile, Ivan also backs his girlfriend's story saying it "cannot be" that anyone else is the father. He revealed how he gave her roses when they first started dating.
Both Darya and her mother want to keep the baby. However, it is too early in the pregnancy to conduct DNA paternity tests on the fetus. “She confessed that she was with Ivan…and had a good time once," Darya's mum Elena said. “I cannot understand how this could be? Just wake me up, I cannot believe it," she added.
Ivan’s mother Galina has also stood by her son’s story. “I believe my son that he is the father," she said, but added that “he is just a child, no matter if he feels himself older.”
Nonetheless, Dr Evgeny Grekov, a urology and andrology expert, says there is no way Ivan can be the father considering there “cannot be sperm cells" at his level of physical maturity. “We rechecked the laboratory results three times so there cannot be any mistake," he said.
According to Grekov, Ivan has barely started adrenarche, which is an early stage of sexual maturation. “There is even no testosterone," he explained. "And just to add, he still has childish sex organs. Puberty has not started. So we have a lot of questions.”
A neighbor of Darya in Zheleznogorsk, who appeared on the Rossiya 1 channel show ‘Father at 10!?’, insisted the girl had an older partner who got her pregnant but that they decided to pin it on Ivan. However, Darya has strongly denied these claims and maintains Ivan is the father of her baby.
Denis Davydov, a psychologist who had a conversation with the 13-year-old social media star, noted how she gave a "sharp rejection" when asked about whether she had had sex with anyone else. “This gives me the right to say that she had no contacts with other boys or men, she only had Vanya (Ivan) as a partner,” he asserted.
