Girl, 13, impregnated by her 10-year-old boyfriend becomes social media sensation due to unusual pregnancy
A pregnant Russian teenager who claims the father of her unborn child is a 10-year-old boy has now become a social media "influencer" after gaining thousands of followers following the news of her unusual pregnancy. Daria "Dasha" Sudnishnikova attends seventh grade in the Siberian town Zheleznogorsk, while her 10-year-old boyfriend -- identified only as Ivan -- is still in fourth grade, Mirror reports.
The schoolgirl was 13 when she fell pregnant, and has recently turned 14. Daria is now cashing in on her newfound fame --especially after the story grabbed international headlines -- by building a following on social media.
The teenager reportedly regularly shares photos and videos with the hashtag #PregnantAt13 on almost every post. According to local reports, Daria is willing to work with big brands and sponsors as she plans to monetize her social media accounts to become an online "influencer."
Her mother Elena, who recently announced she has terminal cancer, says she's going to fight it in order to be there for her pregnant daughter. "Initially, we thought she had food poisoning, but slowly we started to realize that whatever was happening had nothing to do with her belly," she said. "We then bought a pregnancy test and it showed up positive."
Despite her trying circumstances, Elena said she never considered abortion as an option for Daria. She was concerned her daughter may not be able to conceive children later in life. Elena plans to stay around as long as possible despite her terminal condition so she can take care of her daughter's baby.
"Now I have a reason to live," she said.
As previously reported, some neighbors of the family reserved doubts about Ivan being the father, with one man living next door stating he feels someone else got Daria pregnant and wants to shift the blame onto the 10-year-old.
Dr. Evgeny Grekov, a urology and andrology expert, similarly said tests had proved the young boy could not be the father. "We rechecked the laboratory results three times so there cannot be any mistake," he explained. "There cannot be sperm cells. He is still a child. There is even no testosterone. And just to add, he still has childish sex organs. Puberty has not started."
