'Power' Season 6 Episode 9: LaKeisha's not-so-shocking death at the hands of Tasha is a nod to poetic justice

No matter how much she would have pretended, Keisha could never take Tasha's place. Moreover, when she finally began to feel like she was getting Tasha's life, the one she so lusted after, she gets killed.

'Power' season six delivered a death we have long seen coming in the previously aired episode eight titled 'Deal with the Devil'.

LaKeisha (La La Anthony), it seems, has been way over her head with Tommy's (Joseph Sikora) life for a while now, and it has never been more evident than in the couple of episodes leading up to her death.

Multiple people tried to warn her, including Ghost (Omari Hardwick) and Tasha (Naturi Naughton), who ended up being the killer, but she refused to listen until it was too late. In 'Deal with the Devil' she paid the price for it.

While Keisha's death has been a long time coming, it was pretty sad to see her die, especially the final moments, where we saw her pleading for her life with Tasha.

The interesting thing was also the similarity between her death and Shawn's (Sinqua Walls). They were both killed just as they were about to leave town.

The fact that they were both shot in the stomach and lay on the floor bleeding and pleading for their lives before taking a bullet to their heads also did not go unnoticed, especially since Ghost (Omari Hardwick) was the one to advise them both to bounce before things got out of hand.

This proves yet again that people really need to pay attention to what Ghost is saying — maybe Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) is taking notes somewhere.

Then again, Keisha was given the same advice by so many people, including Tommy's mother Kate (Patricia Kalember), who revealed to her that Tommy is the one who killed his ex-girlfriend Holly Weaver (Lucy Walters).

We know that he has come close to killing Keisha too, but her repeated "I'm all in" kept convincing him, and now he is shopping for a ring with Cash (Denim Roberson ) to propose to her.

Many fans believe that this serves Tommy right because now he knows how Ghost felt after he killed Angela (Lela Loren). Considering Tommy never had a family, and that he was hoping to finally create one with Keisha and Cash, makes this heartbreaking.

However, it does seem like poetic justice that Tasha, her best friend, who everyone keeps underestimating was the one to take her out, and that while she was hoping to skip town to protect her son, Tasha was willing to kill to protect hers.

And this ultimately proves no matter how much she would have pretended, Keisha could never take Tasha's place. Moreover, when she finally began to feel like she was getting Tasha's life, the one she so lusted after, she gets killed.

Don't forget to watch season six episode nine of 'Power', which airs on Sunday, October 20, to see how Tommy retaliates to her murder.
