'Power' Season 6 Episode 8: Blanca is trying to get Keisha to flip but Tommy's going to kill her before that happens
LaKeisha's (La La Anthony) days are numbered on 'Power' and we called it as early as Season 6's premiere. She has been trying to play it cool by being Tommy's (Joseph Sikora) woman, trying to fit into the world of drugs and murders. Now, however, she has come out and told Tommy that she is tired of life on the streets and wants to have a family with him. Well, she has a lovely little home in the suburbs that Tommy got for her, and it seemed like she was happy and in love in the last episode, but the upcoming 'Deal with the Devil' narrates a completely different story.
Keisha is being posed with the question "You loyal to Tommy but is he loyal to you" by none other than Blanca (Monique Gabriela Curnen), who is trying to sow seeds of doubt and distrust in her. She informs her that the Feds are flying close to Tommy and it's only a matter of when before he is taken down; and when he is, Keisha's life will be in danger as well. More importantly, so will be her son Cash's (Denim Roberson).
We have always suspected Keisha to not be completely sold to the gang gear. Does she really know what it means to be ride or die? Ultimately, we know that as much as she loves Tommy, her son will always be her number one priority, and if the Feds make her choose between her son and Tommy, she is going to choose her son.
Meanwhile, the trailer for the upcoming Season 6 Episode 8 shows Tommy talking to Cash very seriously about how he needs to come to him if anybody messes with him. "You come to me... Especially if the cops mess with you," he says. This scene from the episode, we presume, possibly occurs after it comes to light that the cops are trying to chase Keisha to get her to rat on Tommy. They are scaring her straight about her and Cash's future if she stays loyal to Tommy.
Now, we know that the cops cannot reach out to Cash directly, they must have had to reach him through Keisha and she must have some idea about how the cops are talking to her son. We figure that Keisha is either going to flip, or do something stupid to make Tommy think she has flipped. In another scene from the trailer, we see Keisha hugging Tommy but her heart is not in it, she is eyeballing something else, and we need to know what that is to know what Keisha is thinking. The point is, her loyalty is under scrutiny.
At one point we see her flinching when Tommy loudly yanks something from the kitchen counter while they are unpacking in their new home, and it is evident just how much trust she has left in Tommy.
From the looks of it, Keisha will get killed before the end of the episode, so don't forget to watch Season 6 Episode 8 of 'Power' which airs on Sunday, October 13 on Starz.
