'Power' season 6 episode 3: History is repeating itself with Tariq, but hope you haven't forgotten about Dre

Ghost (Omari Hardwick) is struggling to stay afloat, and as we hear him saying in the trailer for the upcoming episode 3 of season 6, he has no money, and no options, and time is definitely running out.

‘Power’ has been busy tying up loose ends and giving us full circle moments as we inch closer towards the series finale, and no story has been more reflective of that this season than that of Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.). He is becoming a young entrepreneur in the drug sales department, with the help of a sidekick and a beautiful woman. Sound familiar? Well, of course, he is repeating history with his roommate, who fans are pegging to be Tommy 2.0 (Joseph Sikora), while the young woman who has offered her help in flourishing the business is obviously Tasha (Naturi Naughton) in the making. Tariq, as we know, is just following his father’s footsteps, whether he realizes it or not.

50 Cent has promised us that even though ‘Power’ is coming to an end, there are spin-offs coming our way, and with the way Tariq’s story is going, we wonder if it will be centered on him. It remains to be seen if fans will actually want to see his story, considering he has been getting on everyone’s nerves, but if we are getting a rundown of how an empire is built, we are buying tickets.

Meanwhile, Ghost (Omari Hardwick) is struggling to stay afloat, and we hear him saying in the trailer for the upcoming episode 3 of season 6, he has no money, and no options and time is definitely running out. It is becoming increasingly clear that the show is going to end with Ghost’s death, or at least with him going to prison. Not only is the FBI circling in, but his former BFF, and estranged wife – the two people he was closest to – have turned against him. Tasha is seeking revenge for her boyfriend’s death, and Tommy has already got revenge for his father. Ghost is in unchartered waters, and we can’t help but feel for him.

One man unaccounted for so far this season is Dre (Rotimi Akinosho), who has an entire episode dedicated to him this time around. We sure hope you haven’t forgotten him, because he may still be in federal custody, but he is still a dangerous man, who can make his presence known any day now.

We can’t wait to find out how, when season 6 episode 3 of ‘Power’ titled 'Forgot About Dre' premieres on Sunday, September 8.
