This article contains spoilers for season 6, episode 11.

If there's one thing that can be vouched for in the Starz crime original 'Power' it is the fact that Dre, above and beyond everything, was a grade-A snitch. And now, with the sixth season's winter slash midseason premiere ending with him burning alive in prison, doubts about him finally dying have plagued viewers ever since that happened. Still, fans are thrilled about his death more than anything.

The episode focused on a lot of flashbacks - from the time that Ghost was shot, and fresh new ones of Dre himself, where we went through his disturbing backstory of years of deceit and abuse that shed new light on the guy we have grown to hate. But as viewers meandered through the tragic past of Dre in a possible attempt to humanize him somewhat before he went out in a blaze, the episode was also told from his perspective which added to the layers of this character.

After an entire episode focusing on where exactly Dre was before, during and after the shooting of Ghost, Dre is finally in prison. He tries desperately for solitary because he has crossed paths with 2-Bit and Spanky in the dining hall and they are more than glad to have him back in prison for some long-overdue payback. Things get worse when Dre is sat in his cell later in the day and the door flap opens: it's Spanky tossing wet towels on to the floor with the obvious smell of something flammable coming off of it. 2-Bit tells Dre it's a gift from Ghost, and as Drew desperately begs for his life with no guards around and nowhere to run, the two douse him with the same flammable liquid and toss a lighter into the cell.

Despite his earnest insisting that Ghost is alive, Dre is consumed by the fire Spanky and 2-Bit light him in and though we don't exactly see him dying, knowing that he tried being a snitch till his final moments, fans are beyond thrilled that his case is done and dusted. Taking it to Twitter, they shared their sentiments over the development, with most of them tweeting "Snitches get stitches." Another fan also noted how in that one scene where Dre's abusive mother is shown and holds a gun to his head, it could be just him trying to manipulate her. They wrote: "When his mom points him with a gun - that was deep Didn't know Dre could be... ... Wait what if he was lying just to get money? DRE!!!!! Manipulator and Liar!" In a few short words, another one simply wrote: Too bad he died like that. But he should've expected that himself."

'Power' season 6 releases new episodes every Sunday at 8pm ET, only on STARZ.
