Who is Jessica White?

White, a customer, was the first to notice the stray possum entering through a door close to the parking lot. Footage shows her walking over the dance floor after she caught the bothersome animal, which appears uncomfortable and confused. "That's a f*****g possum," uttered one beer-drinking man. Another joked, "Holy Moly!" One person questioned, "Can I take a picture of you with it?" She stopped smiled and said, "Hurry... he's kind of heavy." A female can be heard screaming, "You're bad a**!!!"

What is Possoms?

The possum, also known as a Phalangeriforme, is a nocturnal marsupial species that occasionally venture into populated areas and is known for climbing big trees. Similar to other mammals, they create dens in various locations on the ground, where they snuggle up and spend the night in safety. They begin looking for food after dusk and continue until daybreak. When food is scarce in the winter, they may start to move around throughout the day, as per WAC.

How did White approach the Possom?

The East Texas country dance hall usually switches on the lights so that patrons can dance one more time before it closes at midnight. it was then that White spotted the possum entering through a door close to the parking lot. "She approached it and noticed that it was very calm but wanted to make sure she didn't put it in harms way or around a ton of people," Jonathan Aviles, social media manager at Banita Creek Hall stated to the Chron. "She grabbed it and went and found the owner of the bar to ask what a good place would be to relocate it."

Aviles said the fragrance of the outdoor hotdog cart was likely what drew the critter inside. He claimed that the possum was brought securely to the bar's patio, where there is grass and is far from other people and vehicles, adding, "The whole thing lasted about 3 minutes because she took matters into her own hands."

'Possum Queen'

White has been proclaimed "Possum Queen" by Banita Creek Dance Hall, and it has been stated that following her valiant deed, she won't be paying for her drinks for a while. The hall shared a Facebook update about the event, which has since gone viral and received more than 10 million views and 75,000 likes. The caption reads, "Not all heroes wear capes sometimes they're a southern belle who obviously aren't afraid of anything needless to say your next rounds are on us. We can’t blame our LITTLE critter friends for wanting to have a little fun at closing time too."

'Apparently she was the only man there that night'

The possum's sudden appearance thrilled and frightened several customers and Internet is hailing the woman for her fearless act. A user commented, "Apparently she was the only man there that night." Another user said, "She caught a possum and it went to her head. Calm down Mary Poppins!" Another user wrote, "I JUST FELL IN LOVE! WHOIS THAT BEAUTIFUL LADY?" One person wrote, "Possum was like hell yeah mama, I’m goin home with you! "She’s amazing….omg I think I’m in love." "Come on girl, you're very brave," a user wrote.
