'Penthouse 3: War in Life': Seo-jin kills Yoon-chul, Eun-byeol reports her to cops

In his dying moments, Yoon-chul comes clean about who he truly loves, much to Seo-jin's anger

With 'Penthouse 3: War in Life' inching towards the finale, fans can expect many twists and turns with each passing episode. After all, you never know what will happen in the series until it plays out on screen.

So far, Seo-jin (Kim So-yeon) and Dan-tae (Uhm Ki-joon) seem to have met their end -- while Dan-tae is presumed to be dead after being shot in the head, Seo-jin, too, seems like a lost cause due to the drugs her daughter Eun-byeol gave her. But episode 13 revealed that it would take more than just drugs to get rid of Seo-jin.

'Penthouse 3: War in Life' Episode 5: Fans go gaga over Kim Hyun-soo's performance as Ro-na

With the residents of Hera Palace being successfully evacuated, the only casualty from Dan-tae's bombing was Dan-tae. Although Su-ryeon (Lee Ji-ah) made it out alive, her concern now is Seo-jin, as she and Logan (Park Eun-seok) believe that she is not mentally ill but is faking it. Yoon-chul (Yoon Jong-hoon) also agrees, having recovered from his injuries as well.

However, he seems to have lost his eyesight due to the same. While he tries to fix things with Ro-na (Kim Hyun-soo) and Eun-byeol (Choi Ye-bin), he cannot do so, as Ro-na is ready to leave the country and Eun-byeol gets angry when he suggests that Seo-jin is faking her mental condition. Determined to help his daughter, Yoon-chul goes to find Eun-byeol, who has now started doing odd jobs to save Seo-jin from loan sharks.

But, because he is now blind, he encounters Seo-jin without realising it. After an argument and a physical scuffle, Seo-jin accidentally pushes Yoon-chul off a balcony. She rushes to his aid to save him. And in his dying moments, he ends up calling her 'Yoon-hee'. Seo-jin refuses to call the cops out of anger and flees the crime scene. Su-ryeon shows up shortly after and protects Eun-byeol from seeing what happened. Eun-byeol has an emotional breakdown when she sees her father's body later, and even though Logan and Su-ryeon try to tell her that Seo-jin killed him and that she is acting, she refuses to believe them.

Determined to bring Seo-jin to justice, Su-ryeon sets up a situation similar to Yoon-hee's death, where she pretends to kidnap Eun-byeol. Seo-jin falls for the trap, and as they are fighting, she admits to all her crimes, while Eun-byeol hears everything, including the fact that she killed Yoon-chul. Eun-byeol finally does the right thing and calls the cops, confessing that her mother killed Yoon-hee.

While it seemed like things were over for Seo-jin, the moment she heard the cop cars, she went into a fit of rage and pushed Su-ryeon off the same cliff that Yoon-hee died.
