Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon) is back with his adventures and is in the mood to take all the viewers for a wild ride once again. The second half of season two is just around the corner and it promises to be more thrilling than the first half. The crisp first half of the second season consisted of four episodes and concluded in December 2020.

The last episode ended with Detective Victor Aziz (Ramon Tikaram) becoming the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom during the civil war. Meanwhile, Pennyworth has decided to leave the country before it burns itself to the ground. On the other hand, we are introduced to Lucius Fox (Simon Manyando) recording the testing of Stormcloud, a bio-terror attack the Raven Union has planned in their efforts to usurp London.

The fifth episode, titled ‘The Bleeding Love’, starts with Pennyworth trying to flee London and take refuge in the USA. But, he is out of money. The entire episode is how Pennyworth tries to make money and achieve the freedom that he wants to. However, one of the most shocking scenes happens when Alfred meets Melanie Troy (Jessica De Gouw), wife of Captain Gulliver Troy, toward the end of the episode.

The Entire “Twisted” Scenario

The relationship between Gulliver Troy (James Purefoy) and Melanie hasn’t been good. In the fourth episode of season 2, Alfred and Troy successfully robbed the Lord Mayor's coach, stealing the hidden gold he carried with him.  During the celebration, Alfred gets angry seeing Troy abuse his wife, and they nearly come to blows. The celebrations are cut short as Alfred and Melanie talk to each other. He suddenly kisses Melanie and she slaps him in return.

However, in the fifth episode, he collaborates with Gulliver once again to make some money. They rob a wrestling center and Alfred gets a fair amount of money that he can use to go to America. Alfred’s mother gets to know he was a part of the robbery and tells him to leave the house. Without saying any work, he leaves the house and starts living in a hotel. In the end, we see Melanie and Alfred meeting once again at a restaurant with Melanie’s face bruised. They talk to each other with a lot of emotions and we see a connection building between the two characters. Melanie says, “Would you like me to leave?” and Alfred simply replies, “No.”

Pennyworth takes Melanie to his room and both draw closer to each other for a kiss. One thing leads to another and they end up having sex as the episode comes to an end.

The sex scene will shock the fans because Alfred already has a girlfriend called Sandra and they have been together for a long time now. Sandra truly loves Alfred and wants to have a future with him. On the other hand, Alfred is looking to dump her because he wants to leave the country. The irony of the entire last sequence is that it has been performed in the background of Sandra’s song recording

The fans will be in a huge dilemma to take sides after that scene. You’ll feel bad for Sandra because she kept on waiting for Alfred at the recording studio. Meanwhile, Gulliver Troy is also unknown of what happened between his wife and Alfie.

What it could lead to?

Even if momentarily, Alfred had something in his heart for Melanie, it won’t be easy for them to have a smooth love life. Gulliver, who is Alfred’s former SAS captain, helped Alfred in making money and if he finds out that he is fooling around with his wife, it would be really interesting to see how Troy will take the cognizance of this entire f***ed up story.

With Alfred’s fate still lingering around, it would be really exciting to watch how he manages to leave London and if he does, will he be taking Melanie with him? Or it would just end up being another “sexual adventure” in his life. Let’s wait and watch.
