Pawnix on 'Shark Tank': Fans slam $199 noise-canceling headset for dogs, call it 'super dumb'
After nearly losing her dog Emma to loud fireworks, Kirsten Brand was determined to help her pooch feel safe even around loud noises. So after a lot of experimenting, Kirsten created a special noise-canceling headset for dogs and launched it as Pawnix.
On the recently aired episode of 'Shark Tank', Kirsten pitched the $199 noise-canceling headset for dogs before the Sharks- Mark Cuban, Daymond John, Lori Greiner, Kevin O'Leary, and Robert Herjavec. She came in seeking $150,000 for a 10% stake in her brand. After sharing the story of what motivated her to create Pawnix, and demonstrating it on her dog Emma, Kirsten was eagerly looking forward to closing the deal with one of the Sharks. Unfortunately for her, none of the sharks seemed interested in the product and cited various reasons for their decision to not make any offer, ranging from the business being at a very nascent stage to not understanding the product's market.

This meant that Kirsten had to leave the tank without any deal. Just like the Sharks even the show's fans weren't entirely onboard with the product. Many fans pointed out that the design of the noise-canceling headset may need further improvement as Emma managed to wriggle herself out of the headset during the pitch. A fan tweeted, "You can't even get #Pawnix to stay on your dog lady. Go back to the design stage. #SharkTank." "Completely unnecessary items Her own injured dog couldn't stand the thing for more than 10 minutes," wrote a fan. "Omg how cute #Pawnix noise canceling headset Not sure my squirming pup would go for it though. @ABCSharkTank #SharkTank," shared a fan. "@ABCSharkTank This is a super dumb idea.. who's dog is gonna keep this on anyway. Clearly not her dog. #SharkTank," wondered a fan. "Yea I’m not getting this on my dog #SharkTank," added a fan.

Aside from the headset's design, fans were also unimpressed by the steep price tag of $199 on the headset. A fan expressed, "Emma is super cute, but those headphones are pricey! #SharkTank." "This @Pawnix1 idea is good!!!!!!! But it’s just SO expensive! @ABCSharkTank #SharkTank," seconded a fan. "I like the idea, but the price is not very accessible to the broader market.," pointed out a fan.
