Paul Ryan blasted for saying GOP under ‘Trump hangover’ and calling ex-prez a ‘drag' on party ticket
JANESVILLE, WISCONSIN: Former House Speaker Paul Ryan took a dig at former President Donald Trump on Wednesday, November 9, and said, “I think we just have some Trump hangover. I think he's a drag on our office.” However, the remarks didn’t go well with people who said, “Paul Ryan is a RINO and a sore looser.”
In a conversation with Wisconsin TV station WISN, when Ryan was questioned, "Republicans didn't see that red wave like they were predicting. Why do you think that is and what kind of lessons do you think Republican leadership should be taking away from that?" He answered by saying, "I think we're going to have to do a lot of soul searching and head scratching, looking through and parsing the numbers as to why we didn't perform as well as we would have liked to. Ron [DeSantis] got reelected, I'm very happy to see that. It was a mixed blessing night, but we should have done better than we did." He further added that Republican Party is suffering from a “Trump hangover.” "I think Trump's kind of a drag on our ticket. I think Donald Trump gives us problems, politically. We lost the House, the Senate and the White House in two years when Trump was on the ballot, or in office. I think we just have some Trump hangover. I think he's a drag on our office, on our races," Ryan said.

But his statements soon came under fire with many blasting Ryan. One of the cticizers asked, "Hangover??? You're still day drinking and doing shots!" Another expressed, "Paul’s disappointing," while one more wrote, "Paul Ryan is a RINO and a sore looser. He and the GOP establishment are the reasons that there is no red wave. Fox should fire Paul Ryan. He is so selfish."

Many continued to bash him, with one saying, "I thought he was gone. So yes Paul go away." "Ryan hangover would be worse though," wrote another and one added by saying, "I blame him and the rest of the party who continue to do their best to divide the party." Calling Ryan a hypocrite, a user wrote, "Remember that time Paul Ryan said he couldn’t support a man like DJT [Donald John Trump]. Then went to support him when he would be speaker of the house. Look at him now. A perfect politician. Hypocrisy at its finest."
