A gunman opened fire at the home of Republican congressional candidate Pat Harrigan’s parents on October 18, 2022, while his children were sleeping inside

HICKORY, NORTH CAROLINA: A gunman reportedly opened fire at the home of Republican congressional candidate Pat Harrigan’s parents on October 18, 2022, while his children were sleeping inside. The children were just a few feet from where a single bullet pierced a window of the Hickory home, Harrigan’s campaign manager told the Carolina Journal. Cops in North Carolina are now investigating the shooting.

According to a police report obtained by New York Post, a firearm was used in the attack, with a bullet ripping through a window in the home’s laundry room. However, no injuries were reported. Local, state, and federal officials are investigating the incident, Harrigan’s campaign manager said. It is unclear whether Harrigan and his family have been receiving any additional law enforcement protection following the attack.

In a November 3 tweet, Harrigan, 34, blasted his Democratic opponent and state Senator Jeff Jackson. "Jeff Jackson’s politics lead to rising inflation, economic ruin, & rampant crime–including political violence. My mission is a better economy, less inflation & safe streets. A bullet & death threats aren’t enough to knock this Green Beret off that mission," he wrote. 

Harrigan is a North Carolina husband, father, business owner, and combat veteran. He is now running for the Republican nomination in North Carolina’s 14th Congressional District. Harrigan and his wife Rocky have been married for 12 years and have two daughters, Reagan, 5, and McKinley, 3.

According to the campaign website harriganforcongress, "Pat and his wife Rocky created a small firearms business that operated from their double-wide trailer home outside of Fayetteville. It grew out of their living room, then grew out of their garage, and then grew out of the warehouse they built behind the double-wide!" The North Carolina-based firearms manufacturing company Harrigan owns employs more than sixty people.

Who is Pat Harrigan's wife?

According to the LinkedIn profile of Pat Harrigan's wife Rocky Harrigan, she is a part owner of the e-commerce website unbrandedAR.com. She has previously worked as a sales and marketing consultant at Critical Capabilities and was a marketing contractor at Fayetteville Regional Chamber.

Before that, Rocky worked as a marketing consultant at Fayetteville Plastic Surgery, and also as a realtor buyer specialist at Madden Real Estate, LLC. She has also worked at a telecommunications company called AT&T. She attended Saint Mary's College where she pursued a BA in Business/Corporate Communications.

Rocky has 34.7K followers on Instagram, where her bio reads, "Arms dealer, Wife, Mom, & unapologetic American 🇺🇸! (Esther 4:14)." She has 1.3K followers on Facebook. 

The latest shooting comes at a time when many have raised concerns over the security of politicians ahead of next week's Midterms. Just days ago, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's 82-year-old husband Paul Pelosi was attacked and injured with a hammer by suspect David DePape.
