Trump-loving pastor declares his prayers sent Ruth Bader Ginsburg to her death: ‘Abortion invites demon powers’

'You need to understand that if we don’t shut down this abortion issue, that blood altar will invite demonic powers into this nation,' Robert Henderson of Waco's Radiant Church in Texas said in his sermon

Texas pastor Robert Henderson of Waco's Radiant Church raised eyebrows Sunday as he declared that SCOTUS Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died because he prayed for it.

Ginsburg passed away on Friday after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 87. During her illustrious tenure on the Supreme Court, she came to be known as a firebrand for women's rights -- including the right to have an abortion. According to Henderson, however, Ginsburg represented a "lion spirit" that God wanted to be removed from within the court system, Newsweek reported.

During a sermon Sunday, Henderson recounted a meeting he had with Washington, D.C. evangelicals last week. “We were in the meeting on Monday night in D.C., and I told them, I said, ‘Look, we need to go into the courts of Heaven right now while we’re on-site in D.C., and we need to shut the mouth of the lion, judicially.' We need to ask for a judgment against the lion that has actually been devouring and intends to devour from the Supreme Court,” Henderson said. “We need to get a judgment against this lion that Paul said God shut the mouth of.”

"Well, guess what?" he continued. "Ruth Bader Ginsburg has passed away. President Trump will establish a new Supreme Court justice. That's no accident."

According to the conservative pastor, allowing abortion in the country was tantamount to letting demons make their presence known. “You need to understand that if we don’t shut down this abortion issue, that blood altar will invite demonic powers into this nation,” Henderson said later on in his sermon. “It’s not just about the babies, it’s about a blood altar that is inviting demonic powers. We have to shut it down, and we need a judgment, a judgment, a judgment against the mouth of the lion.”

It's worth noting that Henderson has supported Trump for the longest time. In January, he claimed POTUS spoke to him over the phone during a prophetic dream and asked him to serve as his "running mate."

"I knew he wasn't asking me to be his vice president," Henderson quipped during an interview with televangelist Jim Bakker. “But I knew that God was asking me to run in the spirit with him. So that is what I have been doing for the last three-plus years, running in the spirit with him.”

Some pro-life lawmakers view Ginsburg's passing as a victory for their cause. "RIP to the more than 30 million babies that have been murdered during the decades that Ruth Bader Ginsburg defended pro-abortion laws," Georgia Rep. Doug Collins tweeted Friday. "With @realDonald Trump nominating a replacement that values human life, generations of unborn children have a chance to live."

In fact, some Republicans are hoping Trump's next SCOTUS appointee would be instrumental in overturning the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision which allowed women abortions. Meanwhile, several Democrats hold that Ginsburg's vacant seat should be filled after the election.

"This is about women's health care," Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass) told Rachel Maddow on MSNBC. "This is about women's ability to make a decision over their own bodies."

Trump has declared his next Supreme Court nominee would be a woman, and that he would "probably" announce her name Saturday.
