Everybody’s favorite K-drama actor is set to make his Hollywood debut. Park Seo-joon of ‘Itaewon Class’ fame has landed his first Hollywood movie and it happens to be a Marvel superhero film. Earlier in June, there were rumors that Seo-joon was going to join the sequel to ‘Captain Marvel’ starring Brie Larson. His agency hadn’t confirmed nor denied the matter, they’d simply said "no comments." Obviously, that had the rumor mills buzzing. Well, not any more or we hope so.

IMDb is a media database with strict authentication, making sure that all of its records are confirmed and verified. When they list any information like the cast and crew of a film or a show, most times they do it after they have received confirmation directly from the production. It is not easy for a general Internet user to change or add information to a film’s page on IMDb without permission. And thanks to IMDb, fans believe that Park Seo-joon’s appearance in the Marvel film is guaranteed.

Park Seo-joon to appear in 'The Marvels'

IMDb added Park Seo-joon’s name to the cast of ‘The Marvels’ on their website. ‘The Marvels’ is the sequel to the superhit 2019 film ‘Captain Marvel’ and is set to be released on November 11, 2022. The actor is supposedly leaving for USA in the second half of 2021 to shoot the sequel. If the film follows the comics and other original sources, we might also be able to guess his role in the film. While IMDb has not revealed the role he will be playing, several news agencies have taken a guess. Many are speculating that he could be playing the Korean-American Marvel superhero Amadeus Cho aka Brawn.

Known to be a successor of the Hulk, Cho is the son of Dr Helen Cho who had appeared in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ and was played by Claudia Kim. She is also known for her role as Nagini in ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’. And while her role in the ‘Avengers’ didn’t have much action, expectations are high for Seo-joon. Known for doing his own stunts and going as far as to learn boxing and MMA fighting, the K-drama actor is no stranger to action. And if he is set to play a superhero with superhuman strength, viewers will be in for a good time.

His last lead role was in the 2020 revenge drama ‘Itaewon Class’ that was produced by Netflix. At the moment, he is shooting for the film ‘Dream’ with K-pop star IU but overseas filming has been postponed due to the pandemic and conflicting schedules. He also recently appeared in a special cameo for his friend’s music video. As part of the Wooga Squad, along with BTS’ V, actors Park Hyung-sik and Choi Woo-shik, Park Seo-joon guest-starred in Peakboy’s ‘GYOPO HAIRSTYLE’ music video. He also had a cameo in Woo-shik’s film ‘Parasite’ that swept the 2020 Oscars.

'Park Seo-joon world domination'

One fan tweeted, “PARK SEOJOON IS GONNA BE IN CAPTAIN MARVEL 2 WE WONNNNNN.” Another fan tweeted, “Omw to watch marvel for the park seojoon.” One tweeted, “Dad: so I heard that some Korean actor might be in the new marvel movie?? me: YESSSSS!!!!
