In 'Parish' Episode 5, viewers witness Gray packing up all their belongings to leave his house with his daughter and wife, hoping to secure a better future for them.

Gray and Colin (Skeet Ulrich) dispose of the bodies of men killed by Rose, Gray's wife, in a desperate bid to protect herself and her daughter Makayla (Arica Himmel).

Gray, Rose, and Makayla go to a hotel, where Gray decides to confide in his daughter about his past life in the criminal world. Later on, Gray opens the envelope from The Horse (Zackary Momoh), the leader of a criminal gang, and finds a chilling confession on a tape recorder - a man admitting to killing a young boy.

There is a possibility that the man confessing to the crime could be the one who actually killed Gray's son, Maddox (Caleb Baumann).

The Horse's decision to send a recorder to Gray implies that there is something significant recorded on it. The Horse may have knowledge about Gray's son's killer or possess information that could be crucial in solving the murder case.

The fact that The Horse has given the tape recorder to Gray suggests that there may be a deeper motive at play. It is possible that The Horse has his own agenda or that he sees an opportunity to benefit from helping Gray.

The Horse may use Gray in seeking revenge against Anton (Bradley Whitford). Gray may find himself compelled to collaborate with The Horse in order to uncover the identity of his son's killer.

Will Gray Parish be able to uncover the identity of Maddox's killer?

Throughout the series, Gray is depicted grieving over his son's death. Given Gray's nature, it is likely that he would go to any lengths to find his son's killer and seek justice.

If The Horse asks Gray to commit a serious crime, Gray's determination to find his son's killer might compel him to proceed, regardless of the consequences.

In 'Parish' Episode 4, when Anton asked Gray to kill The Horse to protect his family, Gray agreed to the plan, even though he ultimately failed in his attempt to kill him.

This suggests that Gray is willing to do anything for his family, including potentially committing violence under The Horse's demand, just to know about his son's killer.

It seems likely that the man responsible for Gray's son's death could be either Anton, The Horse himself, or Colin.

Anton's character has been a mystery since he was introduced in the series. His motives and background are not clear, adding intrigue to the storyline and leaving viewers questioning his true intentions.

Previously, Gray used to work for Anton. However, Gray left Anton's job after starting a family.

It is possible that Anton, feeling betrayed or seeking revenge for Gray's departure, could have planned the attack on Gray's family. Anton could have sent his men to kill Gray's son.

It is also possible that The Horse may have been the one to kill Gray's son and sent the recording to Gray as a deception. The Horse's motive for such an act could be to frame someone else for the crime or to divert suspicion away from himself.

Given his nature, The Horse is capable of killing anyone, which suggests that he could have murdered Gray's son for his own motives.

Another suspect is Colin, who has seemed mysterious since the start of the series. Colin and Gray previously worked together when Gray was involved with criminals. Colin was the one who asked Gray to work for The Horse.

Given the unfolding events, it is possible that that there is more to Colin than meets the eye. His mysterious demeanor and past connection to Gray's criminal activities suggest that he may have ulterior motives or secrets of his own. Colin could have killed Gray's son for his own personal motives.

Who is Maddox's killer? Only time will tell.

'Parish' Episode 5 is now streaming on AMC.
