MOSCOW, IDAHO: The parents of Kaylee Goncalves, who was brutally stabbed along with her roommates at the University of Idaho are supporting their daughter's ex-boyfriend, Jack DeCouer, after it emerged that she made numerous calls to him that evening. Steve and Kristi Goncalves insisted on Fox News that their daughter's ex-boyfriend Jack was not involved in the quadruple slaying, claiming that police are "wasting their time" on the youngster.

In the meantime, police made some new information public, including the fact that one of the two surviving roommates had placed the 911 call that had alerted them to last week's massacre. The information was released ahead of a news conference that was set for November 20, only the second time Moscow, Idaho, police had invited the media to a press conference since the horrible event on November 13. According to The Idaho Statesman, authorities exonerated a ride-share driver who dropped off two of the victims of involvement in the killings as no suspects have been named in connection with the tragedy. As they slept after a night of partying in the college town, Madison Mogen, 21, of Coeur d'Alene, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, of Rathdrum, junior Xana Kernodle, 20, of Post Falls and freshmen Ethan Chapin, 20, of Mount Vernon, Washington, were all murdered by getting knifed.

Later, it was revealed that Kaylee and Madison Mogen called DeCouer at least 10 times between 2.30 am and 3 am on the day they were found dead. Kaylee’s mother insisted that Jack is innocent during an interview on 'Lawrence Jones Cross Country' on Fox News. “Jack is just as distraught as we are. Jack is our family. Jack is 1,000%. 2,000% our family, and Jack is with us, and we stand behind him 100%,” Kristi Goncalves told host Lawrence Jones. “We are supporting him, and we know in our hearts and our minds and our souls and the depths of our soul, Jack is hurting,” she continued. “Kaylee and Jack would have eventually been married. They would have eventually been married, and they would have eventually had children.”

According to Kaylee’s parents, the couple had apparently been dating for years before recently taking a break from their relationship. “Maddie was in our oldest daughter’s wedding,” Kristi said. “She said, ‘All of my sisters are my bridesmaids,’ and Maddie was one of those bridesmaids. And it was all of Olivia’s sisters, including Maddie. Every time we traveled out of the country or went on vacation, Maddie went with us, so this is both of our girls, and we will never stop looking for who killed them,” the grieving mom told Jones. The mother also remembered the final discussion she had with Kaylee that day, as well as the images of Kaylee and Maddie that she had sent her on Saturday afternoon. “Kaylee called me on Saturday, my birthday was earlier in the week,” she said on the program. “And said ‘Mom, I’ll be home on Tuesday, and I’m gonna take you out to breakfast, lunch and dinner, and it’s all on me, all on me, and we’ll celebrate your birthday.'” The three female victims shared a house and there was no indication of a forced entrance. According to authorities, the four victims were likely attacked while they were sleeping.
