P Diddy has been slammed by social media users for showing insensitivity towards Melissa Viviane Jefferson aka Lizzo, during an during an Instagram Live fundraiser

During the Instagram Live fundraiser for healthcare workers amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the American singer, rapper, songwriter, and actress was featured as a guest. Fans weren't impressed though when Diddy cut off Lizzo after the latter twerked during the live stream. The live happened this past Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020, and Diddy stopped Lizzo as she danced during his famous dance-a-thon to help raise money through Direct Relief, "a humanitarian aid organization improving the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies."

Lizzo, who was dancing to Moneybagg Yo's '1 2 3' featuring Blac Youngsta, got a surprising comment from Diddy, who said, "Whoa, whoa, whoa! It's Easter Sunday, let's play something a little more family-friendly." Although she seemed a bit embarrassed, she did stop asking Diddy and his sons to play a "fun" song suggesting 'Juice' as a number.

Fans were not impressed with Diddy stopping Lizzo, claiming the former was fat-shaming the later and also pointed out that model Draya Michele, who was a guest on the IG Live dance-a-thon, also twerked to 'Back That Azz Up', but her performance wasn't interrupted by Diddy.

"When Lizzo was twerking it's not 'family-friendly' but when a skinny girl does it, it's all fun & games," tweeted a user, with another up replying saying, "Wowwwww I didnt know this is how it went down. Yeaaa diddy's was trash for that." Another user had tweeted, "P Diddy ain’t SHIT. When Lizzo started twerking he brought that to an end with the quickness but had nothing to say to Draya when she was shaking bum."

After the unexpected backlash, Diddy came forward explaining his interruption, saying, "There's one thing that I want to make clear. My queen, my sister Lizzo, when I stopped the music it was ’cause it had a lot of curses in there not ’cause she was twerking. She's one of the best twerkers in the world, OK? Let's keep that clear. It wasn't about twerking. You're allowed to twerk on Easter. There was a lot of cursing in the record. And I don't need child services knocking on my door right now, you understand? So that's why I stopped the record. But Lizzo, we love you and everybody stop looking for the negative. Look at the positive!"

Lizzo who seems to have taken everything in stride with the praying hands emoji, revealing that she had no beef with the rapper and all is well that ends well.

We don't know if fans are buying it though, as one tweeted, "Lizzo started twerking on Diddy’s IG live & Diddy talking bout stop its Easter Sunday but Draya twerks on that same live & there are no issues. Y’all can’t even hide yall disdain for fat women & I hate it."
