Ozzy Osbourne once painted a hotel room's walls with the "blood of a shark" during a drug-fueled spree, according to his Black Sabbath bandmate Tony Iommi. Ozzy has a history of drug and alcohol abuse that has had a severe effect on his memory.

Tony, 74, made the revelation while promoting his latest book, ‘Iron Man: My Journey through Heaven and Hell with Black Sabbath.’ “With drugs, always you get bored, so you must do something to one another. Like Ozzy hauling a shark through a window, dismembering it and soaking our room in blood,” Tony said according to The Daily Star. Tony also claimed Ozzy, 73, who has battled drug and alcohol abuse in the past, allegedly begged Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward if he could "set him on fire" on one wild night. “Bill, can I set fire to you?" Ozzy reportedly asked Bill. “Busy, so not just yet,” an unfazed Bill reportedly shot back. Apparently, he later added, “I'm going home now, so if you want, you can set fire to me.” Later, as part of a crazy joke between the group, Ozzy "set Bill on fire” after Tony threw a bucket of alcohol over him.

Ozzy acknowledged in a 2011 interview with Rolling Stone that he can't even recall the birth of his first child since alcohol and drugs had so severely damaged his memory. Major life events, like the time he attempted to strangle his wife Sharon in 1989 after consuming four bottles of vodka, have been rendered unrememberable by years of drug addiction. He entered rehab more than ten times throughout the years, and he thinks he tried to get sober another 40 or 50 times, but those efforts only lasted a few days or weeks at best. However, he claimed in 2013 that he had sobered up, after years of substance abuse. “I don't drink, I don't smoke and I don't do drugs any more,” he told The Rock radio station in Auckland. “I just do Manuka honey and a row with the wife.”

After spending an hour conversing with a horse in a field, the musician admitted in August that he made a commitment never to use acid again. The rock star, 73, believed the mammal ordered him to "f**k off" at the conclusion of their conversation and he made the decision to avoid the class-A substance ever since. The former Black Sabbath frontman said, “At that time in America, people were very fond of lacing your drinks with acid. I didn't care,” reported The Daily Star. “I used to swallow handfuls of tabs at a time. The end of it came when we got back to England. I took 10 tabs of acid then went for a walk in a field. I ended up standing there talking to this horse for about an hour. In the end the horse turned round and told me to f*** off. That was it for me.”

Ozzy revealed in September that he once got into a heated argument with his wife Sharon after dousing her dinner with marijuana-infused "black hash" during an appearance on the Zane Lowe for Apple Music show. “She throws the phone at me and it goes straight on the face,” Ozzy said with a laugh. Hash is a powerful type of cannabis, a dark red to-black substance in color.
