AMALFI, ITALY: A British woman has sparked outrage after posing naked on the steps of the Sant'Andrea Cathedral in Amalfi, Italy, for a photoshoot. Locals witnessing the audacious act of a trio, including two British women, and a man, a photographer were stunned by the ordeal on Monday, October 17. Police were promptly alerted after which they allegedly told the officer, the shoot was for "personal memory."

The British woman who is reported to be an influencer by the local Italian news station could be seen using nothing but a flowing red veil to cover her naked body while striking risque poses. A video of the blatant photoshoot was recorded by an early rising local from her window, in the video, a few workers could be seen pausing their task of unloading boxes, to film the British woman only wearing a red veil on the historic and religious site.

The two British women one being the influencer's assistant and the photographer from North America carried out the photoshoot for a long time until the authorities stepped in and stopped them. The woman stood naked with only a red veil partly covering her body on the Cathedral steps while a mural depicting Jesus Christ is seen above the doors behind her. According to Daily Mail, the woman and her cohort were allowed to leave the scene at the time by officers but after the local officials learned of the incident, they caught up with them before they left the Amalfi, and they were reprimanded for "obscene acts in a public place". They have also been warned against the distribution of the photographs further.
The Sant'Andrea Cathedral is tucked in between the mountains and sea on the Bay of Salerno, on Italy’s southwest coast. The Medival Roman Catholic cathedral was founded in the ninth century and rebuilt in the 11th century in the Romanesque style, and then altered several times.

The facade and the atrium date from the 1800s, but the carved bronze doors were cast in Constantinople around 1000, making them a culturally significant artifact. "Undress[ing] badly in front of a cathedral of considerable importance [is] squalid and unacceptable ... shame!" one person wrote on Facebook. Another chimed in to say, "The scandalous thing is not the fact that she is doing a nude photo shoot, but that she has chosen the facade of a church as the location." While a third questioned how the people were allowed to carry out the photo shoot, pointing that they needed authorization to use the staircase to take photos for their child's baptism.
