LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: YouTuber Trevon Sellers has come under fire after conducting a stunt in which he ate a Wendy's meal in front of a homeless person in Los Angeles. Viewers found the video to be disturbing and called Sellers a "sociopath" for pulling the stunt.

Given that the YouTuber introduced his video by pointing out how Los Angeles has a sizable homeless population who frequently go hungry due to financial problems, the clip is incredibly insensitive. However, Sellers said his intention was to feed one of them today in order to assist them. The video, however, takes an unexpected turn when the content creator pretended to offer the homeless person in the parking lot a meal before visiting Wendy's and purchasing one, but instead ate the food by himself in front of him. Viewers have slammed Sellers for being "heartless" in the viral video, which was first uploaded in March.

What did the video show?

Sellers said in the video, "Los Angeles, California, has the third biggest homeless population in the United States. And today, it's my job to make sure there is one less hungry person on the streets." He recorded himself asking a homeless man who was close to a fast food outlet whether he would like some food and the man nodded in agreement.

Sellers returned after getting food for the homeless man and counted off all the food he had purchased from Wendy's. However, he didn't offer the man the meal; instead, he simply began eating it in front of him before leaving and giving him some advice.

Sellers said, "Got you some Sprite, a large fry. Here's your Baconator, man. Hey, I was homeless myself, so I want to make sure you are on the right path, and you're always able to get back on your feet. So, I want you to enjoy this."

'This video makes me sad'

One user wrote, "I told my mom about this video, and she started crying. It was a good reminder for me that we should have more compassion for people that are struggling. Really is heartbreaking!" Another wrote, "Went thru his ig (trevon.sellers) + his content just gets worse + worse." A third one wrote, "This video makes me sad. Social media is contributing to people acting more heartless to others." Yet another wrote, "The things people do to get attention even if it’s negative is beyond me."

'Grow up bud'

On Monday, April 24, Sellers claimed the man in the video was a "friend" and the entire incident was fabricated in response to the chaos. But the explanation did not satisfy the viewers, as one of them questioned, "What was the purpose of this video even if it was 'staged.'"

Another person wrote, "You think that matter what was the purpose of posting a video like this even if he was a crack addict or whatever you couldve just gave him the food. No matter how you justify this unless that guy says otherwise you look guilty." "Wow life must be miserable if this is how you get your kicks. Check out the word sociopath in a dictionary..." a thrid person wrote. "Full video doesn't make it better... backlash is what u get for promoting dumb shit like that. Grow up bud," another wrote.
