'Our Cartoon President' Season 3 Episode 16 preview: Will the Democrats win control of the Congress?
In the previous episode of 'Our Cartoon President', we were witness to Trump's recovery from Covid-19. Cartoon Trump refused to acknowledge the gravity of the disease that is ravaging his country, but a visit from the ghost of Franklin D Roosevelt changed his mind. He decided to be a "wartime president" because he is sure that will assure him fame and success with the people. He declared "war" on the invisible enemy Covid-19 with a little help from the military. This is the only way to stop "the television from saying mean things" about him, which he complains about. Meanwhile, in another subplot, CNN journalist Chris Cuomo struggled to become a good newsman and learns a couple of hard lessons on doing so.
The synopsis for the next episode reads, "With the Democrats likely to win control of Congress, Cartoon Chuck Schumer and Cartoon Nancy Pelosi try to avoid the responsibilities of governing by sabotaging their own party's electoral chances."
Elections are just around the corner, and 'Our Cartoon President' serves as much relief for those who are against Donald Trump and his regime in the US. Earlier on the show, we saw Joe Biden being trapped on a train to nowhere due to his problematic speeches, and just a while before that, we saw Eric Trump trying to devise a "miracle" cure for the coronavirus. The show also mocked the Presidential Debate, where we saw Trump and Biden squabbling, shouting incoherently over each other, while a bored Chris Wallace tried to moderate between the two of them. Trump insisted that he has made the country unrecognizable, and Biden calls it "dog s**t." Asked if he was condemning white supremacy, Trump waffled incoherently.
This animated parody takes a look at the misadventures of a fictionalized Trump (Jeff Bergman) at the White House. The voice cast also includes James Adomian, Paul Christie, Zach Cherry, Brett Davis, Anna Eilinsfeld, RJ Fried, Molly Gordon, Gabe Gundacker, James Monroe Iglehart, Mike Leech, Cody Lindquist, Emily Lynne, Griffin Newman, John Viener, Amanda Philipson, Matthew Piazzi, Jim Santangeli, Zach Smilovitz, Thomas Whittington, William Sadler, and Stephen Colbert. The show takes potshots at the relationships between the Cartoon President and his family as well as members of Congress, along with media and other political commentators.
'Our Cartoon President' airs on Showtime, Sundays at 8 pm.
