QUEENS. NEW YORK: New details in the Orsolya Gaal murder case revealed that her husband reported her missing two years before she was stabbed nearly 60 times and was left in a blood-soaked duffel bag. According to the cops, Gaal's husband Howard Klein reported her missing on May 29, 2020, after realizing she wasn't home when he woke up. Around half an hour later, Klein informed the police that his wife, 51, came home from a midnight stroll.

Weeks before disappearing, Gaal posted a picture that appeared to show her walking at night. The image shows a shadowy figure standing in the middle of a road. She captioned the photo, "Night time scenery and moonscapes." It is not known where the photograph was taken. According to reports, Gaal was murdered in the basement of her home in Forest Hills, Queens and her body was dumped, half a mile away. The murderer then sent a bone-chilling text to her husband from Gaal's phone. One text read, "Your whole family is next," while another read, "Your wife sent me to jail some years ago...I'm back."

Orsolya Gaal's last moments: Chilling footage shows killer drag body in duffel bag near NYC home

The 51-year-old's body was discovered by a man walking his dogs on Saturday, April 16, almost two years after she was reported missing. At the time of her murder, Gaal's husband Klein was traveling out of state with his eldest son Jamie, while his younger son Leo was at home. Leo was initially questioned by police on April 16 before he was released shortly. It is not known whether Leo saw the murderer who killed his mother in the basement while he was at home.

According to reports, the cause of Gaal's death was sharp force injuries to the neck and the manner was a homicide. Coroners revealed that she had been stabbed nearly 60 times and there were knife wounds on her hands and inside her fingers. Gaal also suffered injuries to her neck, torso, and left arm.

Cops believe that the man who killed Gaal put her in a duffel bag as the surveillance footage from the area captured "an unknown individual" dragging a wheeled duffel bag from the direction of Gaal's home. Officers also believe that the suspect knew his victim and stabbed her out of anger. The duffel bag was spotted by Glenn Van Nostrand while he was walking his two dogs through the nearby Forest Park.

The dog walker initially thought the bag had simply been discarded but decided to take a look after his dogs began to get agitated. Nostrand said, "They are scent hounds. They see the world through their noses." After opening the bag, Nostrand said that he thought the slain body may have been a mannequin.

Nostrand said, "It didn't look very fleshy. It was more like a crash test dummy. I thought it was maybe some equipment being used for something. I didn't think anything of it." Eventually, he noticed blood on the other side of the bag, after which he called the police and informed them about the body in a duffel bag.

Police investigation continues as the cops are yet to identify the male suspect in the case.
