With a masterfully crafted first-look glimpse of some of the most notorious faces from Litchfield Netflix's much-anticipated series, 'Orange is the New Black' just notified its followers about an important season 6 update, the trailer release. In a little over 10 days, the new episodes from the sixth season of the prison drama will start streaming online, but before that, it has emerged that a new trailer is coming as soon as Monday.

"Smile for the camera," a description read alongside as the brief clip shared via the official twitter account of the Netflix series featured a glimpse of six returning characters namely, Taylor Schilling's Piper Chapman, Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren (played by Uzo Aduba), Galina "Red" Reznikov (Kate Mulgrew), Gloria Mendoza (Selenis Leyva), Nicky Nichols (Natasha Lyonne), and Cindy "Black Cindy" Hayes (Adrienne C. Moore). It's no surprise that this chosen lot made their presence felt in the promotional material, especially after the dramatic turn of events in season 5, in which all of the above had a significant role.

Created by Jenji Kohan the series based on Piper Kerman's memoir 'Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women's Prison' has managed to garner rave reviews since the very beginning. With varying characters and their different backstories so far 'Orange is the New Black' has made for a gripping narrative. However, moving into season 6, several changes are in store beginning with a new prison for some of the inmates of Litchfield.

In the final episode of OITNB season 5, after a riot broke out in the corridors of Litchfield Penitentiary, some of the inmates awaited a grim fate - to be packed and parceled to a new high-security facility. In addition to the transfers, the remaining residents weren't looking forward to a bright future either, especially with prison guards taking over.

"Toward the end of season five, there were some people that were agreeing to stick together and there were some people that were looking out for themselves. We'll see the repercussions of those decisions in this next season," teased series star Moore.

As Brooks (the Taystee actress) teased, "There's no up from there. There's nowhere you can go that's a positive... So you're definitely going to see all of the girls trying to figure out how to get out of this rabbit hole they've created. Who is loyal to whom? Who is standing alone? Who is motivated by their own personal will to get out of prison? Who lies and who tells the truth? All of that stuff will come out this season."

Orange Is the New Black season 6 starts streaming on Netflix on Friday, July 27.
