NETFLIX FOR ADULTS? OnlyFans diversifying into PG content to shake off 'porn site' tag
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: OnlyFans is pushing for PG-rated content on their safe-for-work streaming platform, OFTV. With mounting criticism and a reputation for being a "porn site," OnlyFans has resorted to marketing anything, from cookery videos to celebrity comedy specials on their platform.
OnlyFans authors produce all of the content on OFTV, but unlike the main platform, nudity and pornography are not permitted. Whitney Cummings, an American comedian and podcaster, is among the celebrity producers that OFTV has started to bring on board to produce less obscene content, as reported by the DailyMail.

Cummings, 40, signed up for the website in 2022 to share some of her more controversial jokes without worrying about them being "taken out of context" on other, more popular social media platforms such as Twitter. She told Variety, "I know people like to make fun of [OnlyFans] because there are naked ladies on there. I just decided, if the audience is going here, as a comedian there's something worth checking out here." She added, "I wouldn't have the self-esteem to charge people to see my naked body. Instead of dirty photos, you're gonna see dirty jokes."
'Taboo around OnlyFans'
A star-studded comedic roast of comic Bert Kreischer will be released by Cummings on April 1 exclusively on the platform. Chloe, Frankie, Demi and Charlie Sims, previous cast members of 'The Only Way is Essex', have also been signed by OFTV for their own family reality series, 'House of Sims'. Frankie told 'Good Morning Britain' in 2022, "There is obviously a bit of a taboo around OnlyFans. OFTV is more like the sister platform. It's stepping away from the explicit or the nudity side. It's all gonna be safe-for-work stuff and it'll be suitable for anybody to watch," per Ok.
Playboy launches creator platform
Playboy's new creator platform, which claims to be a "elevated" version of the X-rated subscription site, is now a rival to OnlyFans, per the DailyMail. Playboy will support nudity, which its designers see as a form of artistic expression, but will not support explicit material or pornography. The business wants to draw in content producers that find OnlyFans' more explicit sexual content offensive. In much the same way that "Playboy magazine shook up the publishing industry nearly 70 years ago." Ben Kohn, the company's CEO, expressed his hope that the Playboy creators' intervention will disturb the existing creator environment.
