'Euphoria': Louis Tomlinson did not 'approve' of animated sex scene with Harry Styles on HBO show

Euphoria's recent episode has a very graphic, animated sex scene between Tomlinson and former bandmate, Harry Styles, which Tomlinson wasn't 'contacted' about. Needless, to say the One Direction singer's fans are also not too happy about it.

This article contains spoilers for 'Euphoria' episode 3.

Former 'One Direction' member Louis Tomlinson is not happy with the way he was portrayed in a very animated form, indulging in a raunchy sex scene with his former bandmate, Harry Styles, on the HBO show 'Euphoria.' Worry not, none of the singers starred in the episode, nor is it an actual video that exists on its own. It was, in fact, the two former bandmates' animated versions in the form of a fan fiction written by one of the characters on the show, that imagined them as gay lovers.

On Sunday night's episode of the HBO show focusing on teen issues with sex, drugs, and violence, we were taken back into the past of Barbie Ferreira's breakout character Kat, who gained internet fame after launching a brand of fan fiction called Larry Stylinson. As we discovered her expertise with writing smutty fanfic, we were given a very visual representation of how graphic her stories got and the focus of the said tale was a suspected same-sex relationship between Styles and Tomlinson.

You can watch the video here.

Soon fans noticed the liberties the episode took and shared on social media how Tomlinson might not particularly approve of it. And shortly after fans made their concerns known, Tomlinson decided to share that he indeed, did not, 'approve it.' Called Hannah, Twitter user @backtoyoulouis said, "just going to sit and hope that they for some reason approved it because surely they had to to get it aired harry seems quite friendly with the people involved but u can just TELL louis’ not gonna like it." Following that, Tomlinson responded from his verified Twitter account, stating, "I can categorically say that I was not contacted nor did I approve it."

While the actual 'Larry Stylinson' fanfics have been around for ages, Wattpad and Tumblr being the primary storehouse for content related to the two former bandmates, 'Euphoria' stated that Kat was actually the kickstarter of the niche brand of fanfiction on the internet. The story that she wrote and gained her massive internet fame was called The First Night - based on a fictional night of lovemaking between Tomlinson and Styles, set during their Take Me Home tour era in 2013. The narration in the animated segment on the show was done by the show's central character Rue, played by Zendaya, who also didn't hold back from copying the singers' British accents.

Waiting backstage before the concert was about to begin, the story's Tomlinson gets approached from behind by Styles as the narration continues with: "Louis was unusually nervous, his mouth was dry, palms sweaty when he felt the press of Harry's body from behind. Harry can sense the nervous tension running through Louis' stiff body,' and so on and so forth just the way smutty fanfics escalate with the flow.

The scene ended up earning a lot of flak from the One Direction fanbase, who call themselves Directioners. Twitter user @hericaneharryy shared some extreme sentiments saying: "euphoria is SO cancelled, they really just pissed off the entire one direction fanbase i'm dead," while another one called @alahnamdade, said, "I TWEET ABOUT MISSING ONE DIRECTION AND EUPHORIA DOES THIS ??"
