Olga Androsovych: Halyna Hutchins's HEROIC mother is still serving as a nurse in war-torn Kyiv
Parents of Halyna Hutchins, the cinematographer who was shot dead by Alec Baldwin on the set of ‘Rust’, are trapped in war-hit Ukraine. Olga Androsovych, Halyna’s mother, is heroically continuing her work as a nurse at a Kyiv hospital as the Russian attack on the country entered its third week.
Hutchins' husband Matthew Hutchins told TMZ that the family is trapped since the Russian forces continue to attack the areas offering safe passages for civilians to leave Ukraine. Mathew also revealed that Halyna's sister and three-year-old niece have managed to flee to the border of Romania but Olga believes that she can't leave Ukraine safely and has instead decided to continue serving the same hospital she has nursed at for over 10 years. Hutchins’s father Anatoly Androsovych is also staying put in the capital city of Kyiv along with his wife.

Hutchins was a Ukrainian woman who worked as a director of photography in Hollywood films; she was identified as the woman shot and killed by Baldwin with a prop gun during shooting of the movie 'Rust' in New Mexico. Hutchins, who called herself a "restless dreamer", died when the prop gun discharged. Authorities said at least two people came in contact with the gun before it was given to Baldwin for the scene rehearsal, during which he pointed the gun at the camera. Baldwin, when questioned by authorities after the incident, was seen in tears.
According to her website, Halyna was "a Los Angeles based union cinematographer who graduated from the AFI conservatory in 2015 and has since established a track record of successful narrative features. Halyna was selected as one of the American Cinematographers’ Rising Stars of 2019 as well as a cinematographer for the 21st Century Fox DP Lab in 2018.
"Her work on Adam Egypt Mortimer’s art-house superhero action film 'Archenemy', starring Joe Manganiello, premiered at Beyond Fest 2020 and was in official competition at the Sitges International Film Festival, receiving a nomination for Best Motion Picture."
