'NOS4A2' Season 2 Episode 9: Millie stands up to Manx and makes it out alive, fans say she deserves happiness

Fans couldn't help but feel for the little girl who craves for a family, a real one in the real world

Spoilers for 'NOS4A2' Season 2 Episode 9 'Welcome to Christmasland'

Episode 9 'Welcome to Christmasland' showcased Millie Manx (Mattea Conforti) more than it has this entire season. The child, having seen her mother on Candy Mountain in Chrismasland, her father Charlie Manx's (Zachary Quinto) Inscape, decides that she wants to leave the world that her father put her in. 'Welcome to Christmasland' finally had Manx bring Wayne McQueen (Jason David) to Christmasland, something Manx has been trying to do since he came back from the dead at the start of the season, thanks to Bing Partridge (Ólafur Darri Ólafsson).

Millie, who in the last episode told Vic McQueen (Ashleigh Cummings) she would help Vic into Christmas and as long as Vic could help her get out, finally stands up to her father realizing all the things that he's done. Fans couldn't help but feel for the little girl who craves for a family, a real one in the real world. Manx, who is immortal, refuses to help his daughter. He doesn't want to stay with her in Christmasland nor is he allowing her to leave his Inscape. Of course, we don't know what would happen to the child if she leaves, but she does deserve more than her murderous and manipulative father. 

"Anyone else thinks that Millie won’t make it long outside of christmasland...??? Idk I feel like there is some huge twist.. She deserves happiness and freedom but you don’t really get that in THIS SHOW #NOS4A2," wrote one fan. Another wrote, "Millie just wants to be a real girl #NOS4A2".

Another fan added, "Millie is realizing what her mother realized years ago Charlie Manx only cares for himself he doesn't love anyone they are just words with no meaning to him #NOS4A2."

Amazingly enough, after what felt like a neverending struggle of loyalty and truth, Millie decides to go through the White Static and out into the real world. Once she makes it into the real world, Millie starts to disappear but then she grabs an ornament on the trees where her father used to get kids to hang their ornaments before entering Christmasland. After she holds the ornament, she stops disappearing and becomes whole again. Fans though, can't help but wonder what happens now. "Now that Millie is out...and will she be an old woman or stay as a child? #NOS4A2@NOS4A2Fans @NOS4A2," questioned a fan, because in Christmasland, the kids don't age.

In this season, there were very few scenes with Manx and his daughter Millie. Both actors have done an incredible job delivering such a complicated father-daughter bond. "How ‘bout that Millie/Charlie scene, folks? Great work across the board, and @mattea_conforti... AGAIN holding her own, toe to toe with the powerful @ZacharyQuinto... she’s a STAR. #NOS4A2," wrote one fan, with another replying, "True perfection of a performance! I always enjoy the times Charlie and Millie share a scene! #NOS4A2."

'NOS4A2' Season 2 episodes air on Sundays at 10 pm ET on AMC.
