'NOS4A2' Season 2 Episode 4 Preview: Where will Vic hide Wayne after Charlie's latest attempt to lure him?
Spoilers for 'NOS4A2' Season 2 Episode 4
Episode 3 titled 'The Night Road' saw Wayne McQueen (Jason David) have a close call with Charlie Manx (Zachary Quinto) as the 6-year-old almost made it into Manx's Wraith. We also saw Lou Carmody (Jonathan Langdon), Wayne's step-father, and Vic McQueen's (Ashleigh Cummings) current man dodge death when Bing Patridge aka The Gas Mask Man attacked him. The episode finally gave Vic the answer she'd always known, Manx was alive but she also found out that he wants her son Wayne in Christmasland. The end of that episode saw Vic try to burn down the Wraith in attempts to kill Manx again, but she doesn't succeed and so makes her way to her son and her man that are safe in her friends and co Strong Creatives Maggie Leigh's (Jahkara Smith) and FBI Agent Tabitha Hutter's (Ashley Romans) home. We would presume that Episode 4 titled 'The Lake House' would most likely see the gang go to Vic's father's home by the Lake to keep away from Max.
The reason we think it's Vic's father's house they are heading to is that at the end of Episode 1 titled 'Good Mother' we saw Vic take The Shorter Bridge to 'The Lake' and that took her to Chris McQueen's (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) home - so we're speculating that's where the gang would go to hide. With Vic having told Lou in Episode 3 that she would now stay with him and Wayne, we're also speculating that Tabitha and Maggie will help Vic find Manx. "He has to get through all of us, we'll stop him," Maggie had told Vic. After Lou witnessed Manx's direct attack on Wayne and the police were only aware of Bing Patridge's violence towards Lou, we're speculating that the police can only go after Bing. Maggie and Vic, two strong creatives will be able to catch Manx, another strong creative because Vic can find anything through The Shorter Way and Maggie's Scrabble Tiles gives her answers to important questions.
We wonder if Episode 4 will show us more on Millie Manx (Mattea Conforti) and Christmasland but we highly doubt it considering Manx is on a hunt to find Wayne and get him into the Wraith. Millie, his daughter, seems to be the last thing on Manx's mind but that could prove dangerous for his Inscape. We also know that Wayne had accepted a candy cane from Manx before he ran away from the Wraith in Episode 3 and we're thinking that that candy cane will give Manx access to Wayne somehow. Wayne has yet to tell anyone of the candy cane or that about how Manx used Christmas gifts to lure him into the Wraith. Upset at his mother, we don't think Wayne will open up to Vic soon, but maybe he will tell Lou, who he seems a lot closer to.
Since we think that the gang will be heading to Chris's now sober abode, we speculate that Chris and Vic may have a father and daughter bonding session. The last time Vic had gone to her father's place, she had found out that he was now sober and had then thrown her alcohol away. Vic had then made her way to Haverhill to visit her mom, where she had got the phone call that Manx and Bing had attacked her family. Vic went from wanting to stay away from Wayne and Lou because she didn't want to hurt them in Episode 1 to Episode 3 showing her ever alive determination to make sure Manx is dead. We hope 'The Lake House' will have a bit more drama than the earlier episodes considering Manx is now closing in. We expect to hear what Vic, Lou, Tabitha, and Maggie have planned in order to capture Manx who seemingly is immortal.
The official synopsis reads, "With Charlier Manx on the hunt, Vic and her family go into hiding with Maggie. Wayne suffers mysterious nightmares while Tabitha chases a lead on Bing."
